Description of 1946 Ford Other Pickups Ramp Truck

This 1946 Ford Cabover is a full custom restoration that has a super-slick presentation, A/C interior, upgraded suspension, and supercharged power. So this sleek machine doesn't even need to haul a show-winner because it earns awards all on its own.

We don't have to tell you this is something special, the shine of the paint and the polished flatbed radiate this uniqueness from blocks away. But really take some time to see the full quality of this highly-detailed build. This was created by Superior Custom Classics Inc. of Hudson, Florida. It was completed in January 2007 and less than 250 miles have been put on it since then. That's why the sinister black on the cab still retains a showroom level of shine. And speaking of the cab, they really understood how to blend vintage and new styles. You see it up front with the classic extra-tall grille that came on these immediate post-WWII Fords. And now it's finished in shining chrome. You also see upgrades like the sport mirrors and modern headlights expertly integrated into the design. And we bet you never thought you could get cool modern alloys on a truck like this. But within this style is also a ton of substance. The big shining piece of brightwork in the rear is a custom aluminum car hauler by Weld-Built of Wyandanch, NY. And with all that built-in storage on the sides and tie-down hooks on the bed, this is a classic that's ready to transport your classics.

The interior is a full-custom setup. The leather seats are black with a nice textured gray insert, and this coordinates with the door panels and headliner for a uniform look. It has the right luxuries like power windows, power locks, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel on a Flaming River tile column. It keeps a hint of the classic style on the dash with a clean uncluttered look, but it also neatly has room for upgrades like the push-button transmission and cold-blowing air conditioning. Plus, you have three monitors mounted in the headliner so you can see all the angles of this big rig-style classic.

A COE truck means cab over engine, and this one does it in a very special way. It's been moved back to sit behind the front axle. You can see much of it from the bed, and so they made sure to give it a high-polish presentation. This is a fuel-injected 5.4-liter V8 borrowed from an F-150 Harley-Davidson edition. That means you also have an Eaton M112 blower on top for serious power. Plus, there, a Spectre cold air intake and Ford Racing headers feeding a Flowmaster exhaust. The full package is rated at 500 horsepower. With this much power, you'll be glad there was a strong 4R70W four-speed automatic with a wide gearing installed by A-Tex Transmissions. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see a beefed-up frame that also includes a reinforced Mustang II-style front end (w/FatMan components) and a strong four-link rear. It's all on an adjustable air ride suspension. Add in power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes, and this is makes for quite a comfortable driving hauler.

This is such a cool machine that we don't have room for all the details. But give us a call, and we'll share it all, including the feature story on this cool custom big time machine. Call today!!!
