Description of 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback GT350 Tribute |
This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback GT350 tribute has the ideal mix of vintage and new. After all, it has that iconic fastback styling, and the upgraded V8 and four-on-the-floor give it proper Shelby-style power. But with a build that has less than 300 miles on it and modern-style Eleanor paint, there's a freshness here that transcends classic. There's just no mistaking the original GT350 appearance. It starts with taking one of the rarest and often most valuable of the three Mustang configurations, the 2+2 fastback, and making it look even better. The hood scoop, blacked-out grille, driving lights, hood pins, and larger side air ducts are all icons from the years Shelby was building these out of his Los Angeles factory. And that front bumper with room for extra air gives this a competition-style GT350 R look. You can tell they took their time with this recent build by the straightness of the body panels. And on top, Eleanor's proper Pepper Gray paint was a professional application, resulting in a mirror-like clearcoat shine. There's also the double black stripe that starts on the hood all the way to the rear spoiler to give this coupe an aggressive streak. These racing stripes were added before the clear, and so the light loves to roll evenly off this special coupe. The black accenting on the outside give you a preview of the full black interior. The dark theme presents nicely on the door panels, headliner, carpeting, dash, and on the fold down rear back seats. And the details are nice, too, like the classic knit vinyl on the front bucket seats. Plus, this is far from a full midnight presentation. There are touches of bright trim that shine nicely. Plus, you have distinct performance pieces that stand out in the darkness, like the Cobra three-spoke steering wheel and white-faced gauges. Under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch motor that's dressed to impress the Shelby crowd. It has the Cobra air cleaner and Cobra valve covers boldly sitting on top of the V8. More than just look like a snake-bitten Mustang, you have the right power upgrade, too. That's thanks to the Holley four-barrel carburetor, Offenhauser aluminum intake, and Hedman long tube headers that adds power while contributing to the rumble of the proper GT trumpeted dual exhaust. There's even an aluminum radiator to help keep the whole package running cool. And the four-speed manual transmission gives you total control over this big V8 power and its growling soundtrack. Plus, you have great driving features, like power steering, front disc brakes, and an upgraded tubular A-arm front suspension. Strong, fresh, and unique, this GT350 tribute has been given all the right investments to be a terrific powerful classic. So don't miss your chance, call today! |
