Rare 1978 Ford Explorer Short Bed: A/C truck – Evaporator core flushed, cleaned and sealed. New heater core. Heater box cleaned and serviced. Condenser flushed and sealed, is not on truck but in box. Have original brackets, hoses compressor that came off truck. · 5.0 roller motor, small cam, GT 40 heads, shorty headers, Flow master dual exhaust. · Cruise Control – works · Intermittent wipers – works · New tach – works · Tilt steering – tight and works · Power brakes – disc front, drum rear, all rubber brake lines replaced with new · Rear axle dissembled, fluid changed, new rear wheel bearings · New rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware, new rear axle seals · New Bluetooth hands free radio · US wheels, tires 75% · New windshield gaskets · Door felts and seals were replaced
· ‘94 roller motor rebuilt, 175 psi static compression, Mobil 1 oil, 16-17 mpg. New hei distributor, 4 BBL carburetor and intake about 325 hp · New calipers, pads, bearings · New U joints · New radius control arm bushings · Serviced wires on neutral safety switch · Front pump pulled from transmission and transmission serviced, new outer front pump seal, inner front pump seal, rear transmission seal, new fluid and filter · Installed heavy duty 4 core radiator · The front panel on the bed was changed and any rust in bed was repaired with new metal. The bed was the only area that we found rust the places left in gray primer were left in primer where you can see where it was repaired with metal not body filler. Have found no rust that was not repaired with metal · Dent in right front corner of hood, have extra hood if you would like · Clear coat peeling in places, paint has scratches, and may have minor imperfections Bottom line, this is an awesome, very rare short bed Explorer, runs and drives awesome. My next door neighbor took it on a 400 mile trip, no problems. And he actually brought it back! |
