Description of 1946 Ford Other Pickups -- |
You're looking at an American hero that's been given the proper hero treatment. This 1946 Ford pickup represented the return to civilian production after WWII, and today it has been restored with a cool two-tone, enhanced V8 power, and more to make this one turn heads for more than just its history. We were out of the war in '46, and some of the great American iconic elements came back. This wears that spirit well with a bright two-tone paint theme. It's nicely intertwined between the fenders and the cab to showcase some of the unique curves that came right before the dawn of the Ford F-Series. There are nice hints of brightwork on the full-length running boards, headlight surrounds, two-piece wheel covers, and other details. Plus, the end of rubber and other material shortages means the return of a full-sized spare. And while this one retains a terrific classic style, it also has been upgraded for better modern life. You can see that with some subtle additions on this one, like the trailer hitch in the rear and the color-matched diamond plating on the truck bed. Pickups were the first civilian vehicles to come back after WWII because they were the workhorses needed to help rebuild in a peacetime economy. There's no better reminder than with the no-nonsense interior. The exterior black paint is repeated on the door panels, roof, and dash. And it's joined by a taut black vinyl bench seat and rubber flooring. Everything feels quite vintage, right down to the dual-spoke steering wheel. But well-integrated upgrades like the Dolphin gauge package and B&M floor shifter also signal some nice upgrades under the hood. The engine bay is filled with far more power than stock. Not only do you have 350 cubic inches of small block power, but also this has been enhanced further. This has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Holley Contender intake, and glasspacks on a nice dual exhaust. The three-speed manual transmission gives you firm command over this V8 power. Plus, power brakes with Wilwood discs up front and wide modern radial tires give you good overall control. This is a cool and significant pickup that has upgraded to be a good driver today. And there's only 560 miles on it since completion! Don't let something so distinct slip away, call today!!! |
