1967 Ford Mustang Convertible From the 1967 Mustang advertising, bred first... to be first. Then going on to list various features and at the end that say, and I quote "Smitten? Great! I now pronounce you man and Mustang?" A marriage made in heaven with Dark Moss Green metallic on the exterior, a shiny snazzy interior, and a white canvas convertible top. I do, I do...really love this car! Exterior Complete with the hockey stick vented panel in the front of the rear quarter, and extending into the doors, a triple white racing stripe just above the stainless trimmed rocker trim, and a contrasting white canvas top, we are green with envy of this wonderful example. Dark Moss Green metallic to be exact covers straight rust-free steel panels which mind their gaps very well. The beneficiary of a restoration several years ago, it still holds its own. 14-inch styled steel wheels are all around and are wrapped in like new black wall rubber. Interior A manual lowering of the ceremonial convertible (a rite of summer if you will) and we see black vinyl that is all in excellent condition. Shining like the showroom, the front buckets and rear bench welcome you to get in and drive. A floor shifter sits proudly the hump which his covered by black carpet that is slightly faded to brown. An all original very clean dash and instrument cluster is seen, and it has A/C vents but currently the A/C is not hooked up. This car has factory power steering. Drivetrain The standard 289ci V8 is in an original engine bay which is clean and presents with a nice patina, all in blue painted glory. A single 2-barrel carburetor, (Autolite 2100 Carb), and a C4 3-speed automatic transmission are also attached. Undercarriage A Ford 8-inch 3.00 limited slip axle is attached to a solid rust free aged gracefully frame. Some surface rust is on the usual suspects. All structurally sound under here, with drum brakes and stock exhaust. Plenty of patches on the rear frame rail are seen, but no rust. Drive-Ability Twas a nice day indeed so we put the top downwind me and cohort went for a jaunt. We found this car to run well, handle nicely, shift smoothly, and corner with ease. We noted no A/C(needs a condenser), but all other functions...well...functioned! An older example still maintaining its luster, sporty interior, and smooth-running power plant. Very nice paint, clean tear free manual operating convertible top, sporty wheels, and shiny chrome and trim. I feel we will be together at least until death do us part.
