Description of 1965 Ford Thunderbird |
Attention Thunderbird Enthusiasts: Up for sale is a nice 1965 Ford Thunderbird. The owner bought this car in TX in 2014 and has kept it in good working order since. The car has been serviced well from a local automotive shop. The T-Bird has 76k original miles on it. Theengine was rebuilt in 2015,starts right up and runs smoothly. Most everything works on it however it does needs some TLC. Maintenance records & receipts are on hand. In addition to the engine rebuild, the transmission, brakes, electrical system, dash cluster and A/C were all serviced from 2015 to 2018. I am not a Thunderbird expert by any stretch so I will post 24 pictures and give you an overview of what I see on the car. If you have additional questions or need me to check on specifics, drop me note, text or call me. I will do my best to answer any questions quickly. The exterior of the car is in fair condition. The paint is showing its age but the body is in good condition with the exception of the driver side rear quarter (see pic for some bubbling starting to show). The body panels line up pretty well but the hood needs readjusted (again, see the pic). The door hinges are solid and the doors close tight. I’m not sure when it was last painted but it could possibly be buffed out for additional shine, but there are some paint chips and other flaws. The paint in the trunk jamb has pretty much flaked off. Tail light lenses are in decent shape, however the driver side lens has a crack in it. The body is pretty straight, lights, trim grill, etc. are all in place and in good condition. Windshield wipers work. The wheels are 15†with the Thunderbird hubcaps, all in good condition. I drove the car and it has a little shimmy at first but smooths out. I did hear a little backlash noise in the rear-end when letting off the gas. Again, most everything works on the car but some TLC would do it well. From a mechanical perspective, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it on a full day cruise without worry. The seats are in good shape but the passenger seat needs to be sewn up. The carpet is black and very clean. The door panels are all intact, just showing some wear. The gauges have been kept up. The dash pad is cracked, that’s why there is a pad over it. All of the glass is in really good condition. The T-Bird is pretty much all stock with the exception of any maintenance (parts & repairs) that’s been completed over the past 54 years and there’s an add-on Heat & A/C switch mounted below the dash. I am going to list the 24 pics and can take more as needed. I can be reached at 662-560-4609, leave a message if I am unable to answer. Only serious bidders & interested parties on this Thunderbird would be appreciated. I did notice the emergency brake release lever is missing, other than that it’s ready to be inspected, driven and ready to find a new owner. Original title (state of MS), free & clear. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the reserve hasn’t been met. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Bidders with low or no ratings need not bid unless I am contacted early into the auction. Again, I am not a Thunderbird expert and may have left out some key information, so feel free to give me a call to schedule a visit or to ask questions, thanks. |
