Description of 1962 Ford F-100 Restomod |
This 1962 Ford F-100 Restomod has a sleek look on the outside that instantly signals it's something special. And when you see great pieces like the custom A/C interior, fuel-injected V8 power, overdrive transmission, and fully upgraded suspension, you realize this is the one vintage pickup that has everything you want. This truck has less than 1,000 miles on the body since the frame-off restoration, and the factory-correct Holly Green was resprayed in 2016. So there's a fresh quality in the way the panels fit and the crisp overall look. We especially like the way this respects its history while still announcing it's a custom machine. It doesn't have flashy wheels or grille, so most of the shine comes from the bumpers and classic Ford badging. But the extra luster on the paint and the forward-leaning stance make it an instant stand out. The roll-top soft tonneau has a cream color to match the wheels and grille. And beneath it is a quality Bedrug on the floor and a newer fuel tank installed within the walls. It proves that this is a thoughtful quality total build. Inside is more of the classic truck feel with big investments in modern quality. For example, you still get the bench seat, but now it feels plush in a comfy cloth. And the new carpeting retains the classic Ford logo within the floor mats. The dash still has the simple exterior color-matched presentation, but now they have nicely integrated modern R134a air conditioning for the ultimate in comfort. You have a smaller-diameter sports steering wheel mounted on an Ididit tilt steering column. And beyond that, the classic gauge panel not only has been polished to shine brighter, but also they now contain Dakota Digital readouts. Under the hood, the smooth green inner-fenders funnel your attention to a Ford icon in the middle. That's a fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8. The donor was a Lincoln Town car (with approx. 85k miles) and so you have a smooth and torque-filled nature that's great for an upgraded truck like this. Of course there's also plenty of added performance pieces you can easily install for this hardy motor if you so desire. They really took their time to give this the kind of quality so it's almost as if this upgraded motor appears like it belonged here since day one. And the way it fires up so readily reaffirms the quality transplant. Plus, there are details you're going to love everywhere - from functional pieces, like the Optima red top battery; to show-worthy details, like the flames on the underside of the hood. The four-speed automatic transmission was also donated from the Lincoln. It was rebuilt with some extra performance in mind, but it still offers overdrive comfort whenever you want. And don't forget to check out the undercarriage photos. There you'll see more evidence of how fresh this total build is. Plus, you'll spot more great upgrades, like the full front independent K-member with tubular arms and a four-link rear with HD air shocks. Add in power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As, and you have a vintage truck that has some easy modern moves. Complete with build receipts, this is the thoughtful creation that combines a vintage pickup and a fuel-injected street machine. And it even adds in the best comforts, too. It makes for one irresistible total packages you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!! |
