Description of 1965 Ford Mustang GT-350H Tribute |
We all know the legend of the Shelby GT350H. They were true weekend racers that could be rented from Hertz on a Friday, take home trophies on Saturday, and then returned on a Sunday. So this 1965 Ford Mustang fastback has been built as nicely done tribute that even enhances the attitude on the exterior and under the hood. We already know that the fastback from the Mustang's first year has rarity and value. But this one has something much more going for it. Slick black paint with a full gold racing strip package painted on top are the instant sign of the cool GT350 that were rented by Hertz. It has a terrific look with nice details like the hood scoop, hood pins, side scoops, and plenty of the correct Shelby badging. But as a tribute car, there's also room for upgrades. You see it up front with the competition-ready open front end of the R-spec version. Plus, you have bright 15-inch Mag wheels and the glowing eyes of the clear blue-dot headlights. The result is a striking and intimidating pony. Just like the exterior, the full black interior takes classic style and gives it some nice upgrades. For starters, you still get the same low-back bucket seat profile you love in an early Mustang. And everything looks good, from the carpeting to the fold-down rear seat. Plus, there are some well-integrated pieces like provisions for a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner, and the steering wheel is a proper wood-rimmed Cobra unit. The motor has the right look with the ribbed Cobra valve covers and the long Shelby air topper. But there's also a secret here. While the GT350H cars were 289 machines, this has 302 cubic-inches of V8 power. Plus, you have Edelbrock E Street aluminum heads, a Holley double pumper four-barrel carburetor, and a cam profile the feels more aggressive. That means a true performance heart that makes a sweet wound out of the dual exhaust. The three-speed automatic transmission gives you the ease to enjoy this one near or far. Plus, the wide modern tires and front disc brakes give you a true grip advantage. This is the well-done Shelby GT350H tribute that delivers on the looks and the power of a snake-bitten Mustang. So if you love a speedy fastback of distinction, don't let this one slip away. Call now! |
