Up for sale is a 1985 Ford LTD LX
- PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE IN THE "SELLER NOTES" FOR MORE DETAILS ON THE LTD LX!
- The 1983-1986 LTD is built on the fox platform, so all front and rear suspension and brake parts from a fox body mustang (1979-1993) will bolt right on.
- I hate to get rid of her, she's been my daily driver for the past 8 years or so. But the family is getting bigger, and my garage space is getting smaller...
- This car still has the factory 7.5" Trac-Lok rear end with 3.27:1 gearing, it has no issues but it has a lot of miles on it and should be replaced with a 1986 and later mustang 8.8" rear end, it'll bolt right on same as the old 7.5".
- The transmission is a WC T5, same as the 1987-1993 mustang trans. It has a lot of miles on it but it still shifts good in all gears. I also added the factory tunnel hump from a manual fox Mustang so the shifter will sit right.
- I replaced the engine with a low mile 5.0 out of a 1985 LTD Police car, it runs great with no issues, it's a non-roller. The motor is bone stock, great for burnouts or donuts, but not going to win too many races with it.
- The k-member is the same as the Fox Mustang, so anythingyou can fit in that engine bay will fit in this car. An aftermarket tubular k-member will also bolt right on with no issues.
- It's currently running a carburetorsetup, so I only used a few wires from the originalharness. It has a stock 4v aluminum intake and a Holley 600 cfm vacuum secondary carb on top. It's running on a factory Duraspark module and distributor.
- The original wiring is all there, so it can be taken back to factory CFI form. The 5 speed works way better with the carburetor, it stumbled a bit during shifting when I ran the CFI.
- I also installed a set of BBK shorty headers and Mac Pro Dump mufflers, the car sounds amazing!
- The brakes and tires are all in good measure.
- The Charcoal interior is Very nice for being 34 years old. There are no big holes or rips in the fabric, only standardwear on the drivers side frontseat bottom, and maybe a cigaretteburn or two on the back seat (pics).
- The drivers side sun visor is ripped.
- The carpet and headliner are in good condition.
- I replaced the factory 85 mph speedometer with a 140 mph speedo, those were factory in the LTD Police cars. That being said, I do not remember what the actual mileage is, it's most likely around 210,000 miles.
- The body is in ok shape, I'd like to call it a 10 footer. It has a few dings here and there, I work in Berkeley and parking is a nightmare.
- There's a dent on the rear RH wheel arch, on the leading edge (pics). There are 2 light scratches on top of the LH fender (pics). The front LH corner of the hood was bent, then repainted, there was no body work so the damage can still be seen.
- The person I bought it from had it painted before I bought it, the paint has some imperfections.
- There are no engine bay pics because I'm in the process of changing over the intake manifold, I'm keeping the one that's on there and putting the factory 4v aluminum one.
- This car is pretty much a blank canvas, ready for some fox body performance parts to be thrown at it. This is pretty much a 4-door fox body Mustang, great for the guy that just had a baby and needs room for a car seat.

HAPPY BIDDING EVERYONE!!!
