Description of 1966 Ford Mustang

This is a beautiful 1966 Mustang GT350 tribute to Shelby's creation.
A bit of history....Convertible Shelby Mustangs didn't hit the scene until '68 - in production form, that is. However, four legit G.T. 350 convertibles were made for 1966 per the 2011 Shelby Registry from the Shelby American Automobile Club. Whether you call them test cars, prototypes, or styling exercises, the crux is that they certainly weren't available to the general public. In the case of the '66s, the SAAC Registry details how these were the last four cars(once thought to be six)ordered by Shelby American at the end of the model year. At least three were destined for use within Shelby and Ford as test vehicles while one other was sold toBob Shane of the popular singing group, The Kingston Trio. Later, between 1980-82, Shelby built 12 more convertibles as a continuation of the 1966 GT350 production line.
This 1966 Mustang GT350 tribute started as a rust free (no panel replacement or otherwise) '66 convertible and has been transformed into the Honey Gold Shelby beauty. It offers upgraded disk brakes, a 66 date correct 289 4 barrel Shelby dressed with less then 5k miles on the motor. Off the motors are headers and dual exhaustwith chrome tips through the rear valance. It sounds like a nice driver mustang... not loud or obnoxious but elegantand throaty... perfect for a Sunday drive or your local parades. It's also been used in modeling shoots and such.
All the chrome is like new and the door glass is in great condition. The windshield has a repaired place on it where a stone hit it... not bad, less then a dime, but it's there. there are a few blemishes that can be touched up easily. when the car was painted the trunk wasn't lined up at the top so when it was shut it pinched and some paint chipped off but can be easily touched up. The BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires are nice with style steel wheels and caps. The top, rarely put up as the car is always garaged, is in good condition as the rear window is a little fogged but the top is white. It has not been replaced in many years but usable with no rips or tears. It has the interior matching convertible tonneau cover - a couple snaps need replaced if desired. The Shelby stripes run through the hood and trunk was painted and cleared on top however the side stripes where the standard vinyl GT350 strip kits - all in like new condition. Shelby badging all around, gas cap, VIN badging, etc. and a new cobra style steering wheel.
The interior is in great condition, the door panels are very nice and offer the cool pistol grip handles, seats and dash all near perfect. The interior offers the woodgrain styling through the dash and console. The radio is a correct fit classic fit Mustang radio but is a old style tape deck - functional... but not Bluetooth or the like.
It's not been driven much recently and it could use a wax and buff... it's a really nice car... Much money has been put into this car over the years as you can imagine.
