Description of 1966 Ford Ranchero 289ci A-Code 4-Speed |
FOMOCO & classic car fanatics, here is a little jewel that you rarely if ever see surface! ‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous, numbers matching, rotisserie restored 1966 Ford Ranchero! Stating that this classic pickup is ‘super-rare’ is no exaggeration whatsoever! Finished in its factory original shade of (Code T) Candy Apple Red, wrapped around a gorgeous (Code 45) red vinyl bench-seat interior, and sporting its factory original 289ci A-code motor, factory original 4-speed Toploader transmission, and factory original 3.25 rear-end, this little Ranchero is a classic car collectors dream! We sold this truck 7-8 years ago right after the complete ‘rotisserie restoration’ was completed, and the truck had only 45,250 original miles at the time. When we found out that the collector that we sold it to was willing to part with his collection, we immediately bought the Ranchero back and found that it only has 45,381 original miles, which means that it was only driven 131 miles in the last 7-8 years. This ’66 Ranchero is a show-stopper folks! All of the factory original sheet metal is super straight all of the way around the truck, and the factory correct (Code T) Candy Apple Red paint is absolutely beautiful, w/ a bright, shiny appearance throughout. All of the chrome & stainless trim is in excellent condition as well. She sits on 15†Ford Mustang style GT wheels wrapped w/ 15†Coker Redline radial tires. She left the factory w/ 14†steel wheels w/ dish hubcaps, but during the ‘rotisserie restoration’ it was decided to put the beefier, more stylish 15†Mustang GT wheels on the truck, which in my humble opinion look fantastic. This Ranchero has a perfect stance, and you can walk around it a hundred times and never find a bad angle. What can I say besides this pickup is absolutely spectacular! Being a rotisserie restored truck, the undercarriage is just about as nice as the top side, w/ glossy Candy Apple Red paint throughout, and all new suspension components, new dual-exhaust system (came w/ single exhaust system from the factory), new gas tank, etc. There are plenty of undercarriage photos so that you can see how beautiful she is underneath. Open the driver’s door and you will find a near-perfect, factory correct (Code 45) red vinyl bench-seat interior that looks just like it did on the showroom floor back in 1966. All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, etc., are in perfect working condition, and the original AM radio sounds great. Even the original lighter pops out hot! Behind the seat you will find the factory correct spare wheel/tire & jack assembly. Please look closely at the photos to see how beautiful this interior really is. Open the hood, and you will discover a beautifully detailed engine bay which houses the original 289ci A-code motor dressed in Ford Blue, and featuring chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner assembly, original Autolite 4-barrel carburetor, correct Rotunda oil filter, correct Autolite battery, etc. The 289ci A-code motor is linked to the original 4-speed Toploader manual transmission, which feeds power to the original 3.25 rear-end. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully in every way. The 289ci A-code motor delivers plenty of power & torque, and the 4-speed Toploader transmission shifts super smooth & tight. This '66 Ranchero is an absolute BLAST to drive! She tracks straight & true down the road w/ no vibrations or unwanted noises whatsoever. The dual exhaust system really makes a difference as it sounds incredible, and the motor can actually breathe. This is a very special classic pickup, and as I stated previously, it is extremely rare! The new owner will receive piles of restoration receipts, restoration photos, owner’s manual, dealer brochures, and various other original documents. If you have been searching for a ‘rare’ classic pickup that will win ‘First Place’ awards at any national-level car event that you decide to enter, or simply a classic truck that can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest w/out worrying about reliability, this gorgeous 1966 Ford Ranchero will be very hard to beat! |
