Up for sale is a very nice Allstate trailer specifically designed for the Model A Ford car. The black 1931 Model A Ford coupe attached to the trailer, shown in the photos, does not, of course, go with the sale of this trailer. That car belongs to my buddy and the photos are when we used his car to pick up the trailer when I bought it. Sears sold these trailers new, back in the day. I bought this trailer a year ago from a local Model A Ford club member. One of my fantasies has been to drive my 1931 Model A Deluxe Phaeton, across the country from my home state of Michigan and follow route 66 to California. I imagine many car guys have dreamed about doing the exact same thing. That was the reason for me to purchase this cool little trailer. Unfortunately for me, that is no longer possible, as I have had a collapsed left lung twice in the last year and need to be on oxygen 18 hours a day. So my cross country trip will not be possible for me to do. This is a nice trailer, but it is not a typical tongue and ball trailer hitch set up. It has one caster wheel on the back and the trailer connects to the bumper brackets on the rear of the car. This means the trailer does not move independently from the car, but rather extends the length of the car from the front bumper to the back of the trailer. Easy to back up, as the caster wheel just swings around as it needs to. This will bolt right up to the rear bumper brackets of a 1930 and 1931 Model A Ford car, with the two piece rear bumpers. If you have a one piece bumper on the rear of your car, as I do on my phaeton, you need to remove the bumper. Also the two piece bumpers on the 1928 and 1929 Model A's extend a little past the car bumper brackets on the inside edge, so they will need to be removed as well. Once the trailer is bolted to the rear bumper brackets, it becomes one unit in length with the car. There is a new tire on the trailer and it is wired for tail, brake and turn signal lights. Also a nice snap on cover keeps the weather out of the bed. There are two legs that pull down and are bolted, for storage. When under way, they fold up and are again bolted to keep them up. I will have to go to my storage garage and get the exact measurements of the trailer and post it on this ad. I have a clear title for this trailer. PLEASE NOTE: I will not ship this trailer. You will have to come to my location (it's stored in an aircraft hangar at my local airport in Waterford Michigan, just West of Pontiac Michigan) with your Model A Ford, or a pick-up truck and either attach it to your car or put it in the bed of your truck or trailer. I can have a couple of guys help with the loading if necessary. It's cold and snowy in Michigan now, so it is ok to leave the trailer in my hangar for up to 90 days, until you can come and get it. No charge for storage. I really wish I didn't have health issues and could do that trip across the country, but I can't risk being out in the middle of nowhere and have my lung collapse again. Read my feedback and buy with confidence. Deposit of $100.00 through pay pal, balance in cashiers check or cash. Check out other items I have on ebay, although this is the only car related one currently and thanks for looking.UPDATE: The outside dimensions of the trailer is 52 inches long by 38 inches wide. The two side walls are 18 inches high and the front and back walls are 24 inches high. The front and back walls are 46 inches tall from the ground to the top of the walls. The wood is approximately 1 inch thick, so deduct about 2 inches for the length and width to get the inside dimensions of the bed of the trailer. The tail light or lights of a Model A Ford are visible from the rear of the trailer, as they stick out wider than the width of the trailer, if you don't hook up the trailer lights. This is a very nice Allstate trailer that is perfect to tow behind your Model A Ford car, to go on a long trip or use for touring.
