Description of 1967 Ford Mustang Custom |
It didn't work out last time but thanks to the 4000+ views, 119 watchers and the 15 bidders. It was exciting for a while! I will be considering your ebay history and feedback when deciding rather to accept offers or not, so no Knuckleheads! My apologies to those of you that were going to bid nearer the end of the auction and were caught off guard and to the high bidder that probably wasn't looking at his emails and didn't know that he won the car. My oldest grandson has found a truck and I need to complete this sale in order to fund that truck. Ready to finish in your color and interior! I bought this mustang in 2011 from a farmer located in the desert plains between Lubbock and Midland/Odessa Texas. It was in a lean to with the hood off of it and the hood looked like it had been run over by a tractor. Someone had put some 1969 Mustang seats in it. He may have been a farmer, but he did know what he had for the most part. I pulled away on a trailer $7000 later and happy as possible to have actually found a 67 fastback! I have no skills as a mechanic or anything to do with vintage cars other than tuning one up, waxing it and driving it! I did have a small work force of my daughter and her three young sons and we took on the task of dis-assembling it. It took most of the summer but we got it done, with everything that was usable marked and cataloged. In 2014, I found out I had lung cancer and had to move closer to Dallas Fort Worth and next door to my daughter and grandsons. After a year of recovery, I started looking for the best mechanics and body shops to make this the car I wanted it to be. I wanted a car that could be shown, but not a trailer queen. I wanted a car that could be driven, without fear of it getting wet! I wanted it to have NO BONDO and NO CANCER so any sheet metal that couldn't meet those specs was replaced. All of the sheet metal replaced came from Dynacorn, which you informed buyers will identify as the best! Most of the other parts that are not OEM came from Scott Drake or another quality provider. Body Repair Complete Rotisserie with the Dynacorn panels including both rear quarters, back panel, trunk lid, right front fender and all the floors. I bought a pair of pristine doors that unbelievably I found by chance with no rust, dents or bondo for $800, a fiberglass on metal GT Hood for $800 and paid exactly $10,000 for the labor. That makes the body work at that point $11,600 plus sheet metal. I purchased a Rod and Custom rack and pinion power steering unit with disc brakes, adjustable ride height and the shock towers removed. We installed a GM upgrade power steering pump. Total bill was $5,300 + new pump I wanted wheels on it right away, so bought some Coy's and new Cooper Tires $1,500 and put them on as fast as we could. I found a super motor builder that specialized in hot rod motors and motors for Tractor pulls. You know the motors that cost a couple of hundred thousand dollars. He had it for almost a year working it in when not committed to one of his regular racers. I had also been lucky enough to be on top of a local Cobra shop where a customer brought a brand new Cobra in to have some modifications done to it. The car had 114 miles on it. I was able to buy the Borg Warner T-10 4 speed that was date coded late 1966 and completely rebuilt at the Cobra shop. Also the Dual Quad Intake and Holley Carbs that were brand new, the original Cobra valve covers and the electronic ignition, clutch, pressure plate and some misc. other parts for $2,800!!!! The motor was stroked to 347, forged pistons, 10.5 to compression and over 400HP. A new larger fuel line bent to provide enough fuel from the new gas tank to the new motor. Total bill was $7,500 so $10,300 total. Several years earlier I had a 1967 Mustang GTA Convertible that I sold the body to a guy in Europe that just want the body. So I got to keep the HIPO 289 exhaust manifolds, the instrument cluster with Tach, Factor A/C controls and vents, GT Grille with horse and corral and fog lights and the GT gas cap. I had the exhaust manifolds powder coated to look as original. Conservatively this all was worth $2,000. I had the exhaust custom installed with Hooker Header remote dumps that would open the exhaust in front of the mufflers with a remote key fob because I thought they were cool!! $1,200 installed I have had all new brake and full lines installed and custom bent, the rear brakes and hubs replaced. $800 I also have receipts for over $10,000 for parts not already accounted for!!! Trim, Shifter, Boot and bezel, all the sheet metal, molding, screws bolts, grille moldings, headlight extensions, quarter extensions, matched key locks, front and back windshield trim and connectors on and on and on!!! I still have parts incoming from CJ Pony either in shipment or back ordered. I believe I have 98% of the parts needed to complete the build. I have all the interior and 3 sets of front seats and back fold down with all the side pieces. I have the door windows, chrome, and mechanisms and the original back window that are all in great shape. I don't know if I have the door panels but they needed to be re-done anyway. I do not have a front windshield. Yep, $48,000 !!!!!! I know it needs front windshield, paint and interior. That's why I needed some skills!! Now I have a mustang on it's way to be greatness and a daughter that's a single mom with three teenage boys with no cars. What would you do?? I think that it's probably embarrassing for a 17 year old to get taken to school by his mom and picked up by one of his grandparents! I GET IT! I may be old but I still remember being 17!! The buyer pays for all shipping costs and makes all shipping arrangements. $2,000 Paypal deposit and the balance bank to bank wire transferred within 7 days. Please email your questions, I am retired and don't have much to do....I have nothing to hide on this car!!!! |
