There’s a great deal that can be said about this well preserved Ford Mustang.

The history, service records & paperwork that has been collected through the years is beyond impressive!

You would be hard pressed to find a SPRINT model with more records of authenticity!

True 1968 Sprint cars have become very sought after by collectors over the past few years.

At a recent auction in Vista California a 1968 Sports Sprint Mustang sold for more than the 1968 GT paired along side of it.

These unique Sprint models were produced with factory fog lights, C stripe & pop open gas cap. It basically has the attributes as the GT cars {without the mandatory four barrel & heavy duty suspension}.

The original lucky owner purchased this beauty new at FordCommercial Co. in Arkansas.

It is well known among family members just how much he loved the car. To say that the vehicle was pampered would be an understatement!

However, after many wonderful years of ownership he reluctantly sold the car due to financial matters.

Fortunately the love and owner admiration continued.

The new steward took it to various parades, car shows and cruise inns throughout the state.

It was touching to see all of the sentimental photos of his family enjoying the car.

His personal favorite was the one of their daughter cruising it to the H.S. prom.

All things being equal shortly thereafter the kids went off to college.

Subsequently the Mustang was spending too much time in the garage (so here we are).

After discussing it over with his wife he reluctantly decided to put this pony out to pasture.

Nevertheless a few short years ago (before relinquishing ownership) the family implored the Mustang Corral in Edwardsville Illinois to completely refurbish it.

Things were kicked off by extracting the original protective covering & applying a new layer of Tri color enamel.

The original hue for the car is coined Gulfstream Aqua (in true essence it’s absolutely beautiful)!

At dusk it comes across as a beautiful shade of dark turquoise!

The MCA (Mustang Club of America) and various others have voted the color one of the best ever to be released by Ford!

Painstaking time & research was invested to come up with the exact shade and tint from 1968.

It is important to mention at this point that this vintage vehicle has only been repainted once!

As a result the car garners attention by all once the car cover is lifted. Random strangers approach and snap photos at will!

The consistency and contour of the exterior panels are very much noteworthy!

The overall presentation seems to be in step with Ford assembly and tooling specifications.

Many attributes make the car a fan favorite!

There’s a stark contrast between the blue greenish exterior and black vinyl top!

The simulated roof happens to be in excellent shape with no rust bubbles protruding from underneath like most.

To further help compliment this sweet color combination a factory Ford sanctioned Raven black C – stripe hugs the baseline.

This factory reflective horizontal band runs over the circumference of the body. It continues along the midsection and around a pristine set of quarter ornaments!

The enhanced options list also includes a nostalgic set of GT style fog lamps & pop open gas cap!

Factory stainless rocker panel moldings bring the complete appearance together.

The bright work and stainless trim appointments are also commendable.

The total picture & presentation brings a smile to almost every face!

TAKE A LOOK!

Since we have covered the bases regarding the exterior let’s see what she has to offer inside!

This Ford was released with a low key standard interior. Although subtle in nature it still comes across stately and comfortable.

The dash pad, gauges and cockpit territory are pretty much immaculate!

All the lenses are crystal clear function properly.

The seat upholstery (front to rear) is very presentable and accommodating for most.

The original door panels are damage free and further help to accentuate the interior.

To top things off a signature set of embossed Cobra floor mats have been added to safeguard the carpet!

This Mustang is ready to be fully enjoyed!

Now once you say the word classic Mustang everyone wants to know “what’s underneath the hood”!

NO MUSTANG CAN BE TRULY CONSIDERED A FREE RUNNING STALLION WITHOUT HAVING A FACTORY V/8!

Thankfully Ford did not rest on their laurels when this one left the plant.

This factory Sprint Mustang came equipped with the C-Code 289 power plant.

If you desire a classic car that is fun to drive, powerful and reliable “look no further”!

This block has been modified and overhauled to perform respond on command!

Additional internal high performance goodies have been added that give the car complementary power.

An (Extreme Energy) camshaft and polished connecting rods were supplemented for performance.

An Edlebrock Performer II intake sits atop the block and chrome valve covers shields what’s underneath.

To help push this pony to the limit a nickel plated Holley 600 CFM carburetor has been incorporated (with electric choke)!

Hardened valves seats have been installed so the vehicle can burn modern unleaded fuel “an important aspect that many fail to do”! No short cuts were taken.

Preventative maintenance has been addressed religiously (recent parts include) plugs, 7MM wires, battery, thermostat, water pump, fuel pump, voltage regulator, etc.

A chrome air cleaner is in place to grace the engine bay.

This vintage Ford is a blast to drive & a total thrill to cruise,
