This car was bought new on 5-20-1993 at McCoy Ford in Rising Sun Md. it was driven 24,780 miles and traded back into McCoy Ford for a pickup truck. On 4-10-1995 John E. Wiker (Johnny Lightning) bought car, after getting the car Johnny Lightning of JLP performance (his high performance shop), took the car and bought a DSS short block with all forged internals, a set of Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads, a Ford F-303 cam, set of long tube headers and of course a Vortech S-1 supercharger kit with the included MSD Ignition system with boost retard knob tucked away nicely on the center console, it has a 7 quart oil pan, he had a Tremec 3550 5 speed transmission built and he installed it, it has a blow-proof scatter shield, a heavy duty clutch, adjustable clutch cable, aluminum drive shaft, drive shaft loop and subframe connectors. The rear end has had 373 gears installed. All work was done by Johnny Lightning. He did run the car a few times at the track because that is what he does for a living, however, this was not a race car he used in competition, just to promote his business. The car mostly sat in his showroom for the 12-13 years he had it, he drove it to shows and car get togethers. in 1995-96 after the car was built he got a new Cervinis fiberglass hood for it, and here is where the story gets good lol! He went to go get paint for the new hood and took the paint code to the paint shop, he had paint mixed up and took it to the painter, the painter called him and told him the paint did not match so scratching his head and going back to paint shop they just had the paint matched to the car. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED OR REPAINTED, it retains ALL of its original VIN stickers on every panel of the car and they have not been taped over or anything, it has all the original stickers everywhere on car. So Johnny takes off to Carlisle Pa. for the annual all Ford meet. He notices when he is there that his car color is off from the rest of the Vibrant Red Cobra's, a little while later he was approached by a man from SVT named Jason Venjeck? Vencheck? we are not sue of spelling sorry.Anyway, he asked Johnny if this car was under production number 500, it is number 474 so he took down some info and made a call and told Johnny that he had one of 5 cars that were done in an experimental color, all were supposed to be crushed, 3 were crushed and 2 made it out to public somehow and this car is one of those. So it is supposedly one of two in existence in the world. I have run into a wall on researching this, I had a Marti report done and it says Vibrant Red, but with all cars supposed to be crushed did they not bother changing code or maybe they didn't have a code for it? All of this info was given to me by Johnny Lightning. The car has a bit more orangish hue to it than the normal color. It has been in a showroom or garage for at least 24 of its 27 year history so it has not faded besides all the Johnny lightning stuff happened when it was only a couple years old.Johnny sold the car to a friend of mine Brett Myers he was the Ace pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies and bought the car after winning the World Series in 2008. He had it shipped to his house here in Jacksonville Fl. I remember when he got it. It has been in his heated and air-conditioned garage since 2008 with him not putting more than a couple hundred miles on it since he owned it. I finally got him to sell it to me a few months back. It was sitting all dusty and with 4 flat tires and obviously a bad battery. I had it towed to my house where I put a brand new gas tank, a 340 liter an hour fuel pump changed the oil and fired it up, it is running good again, I put 4 new factory sized Nitto tires on it with Nitto 555r in the back for some much needed traction. I know I am forgetting some things and if remember I will add them. I have a couple videos of car running and showing of all the VIN stickers on all the panels. you can message me and send your phone number and I can text them to you. There is a picture of the Marti report and the car title when it was in Johnny's name, it has milage and dates on it. I have a clear title in hand. I will assist with shipping on your dime, or you can fly in and drive it home or whatever you like. Car won't leave until payment has cleared, or cash or bank check in person.
