Description of 1914 Ford Model T |
This 1914 model T speedster is simply awesome It has been converted to all Electric. The original motor has been removed and an electric motor put in. The build began with a 1914 Model T which was reg'd but then the speedster build began. Has of course a lot of other parts to complete the speedster build such as the Platform kit, Wheels (for safety and speed) and the lowering kit and tank and seats etc.. the base is 1914 and the rest is speedster build. And Of course disc brakes had to be added as the original brakes are in the motor/Transmission which was removed. They are Texas T disc brakes and wildwood calipers and work great. So it has Brand new REAR DISC and the Parking Brake (original) all works too.... everything works great. The battery pack is from a chevy volt. Also comes with 110v charger. This T goes faster than it needs to. Very quiet and very smooth... ive had it up to about 50mph and it still seemed to have plenty left. But to me its not a freeway vehicle even tho it would likely do the speed. This T was set up originally to race so the PO put real tall gears in it. Its pretty fast and does awesome if you live in the city on regular roads.... Its great.... The one thing I will say about it..... If u live in a real hilly or a real mountainess area like san francisco then the rear pinion would likely be better changed... I have one real extreme hill (much more of an angle than you will see in legal streets) where I live and it has a hard time from a stopped position. The original 10 tooth or 11 tooth would work better on this in the mountains or foothills. But you would probably loose a little top end.. however it is so fast it shouldn't make enough of a difference to matter. If u live in flat ground like in sacramento.. U r in business the way it sits.. b/c its fast.. and I like it that way.. its a personal choice thing. new gear set is 300 or so depending on where you guy it... and its easy to put in if you have any mechanical know how.. but again all personal preference.. It has LED head lights. I have clean clear CA title And the electric motor is water cooled so it is more compact than the older large dc motors. This is a nice set up... Come see it / drive it.. U wont find another like it. I've owned 30 or more vintage cars and trucks in my time including 2 other model t's that were gas and 2 early ford broncos that were perfectly restored and a 1941 slat grill jeep i've even owned a 1945 gpw that was converted to electric. THIS one definitely gets the most looks and questions. Im selling because im moving out of state. and i have 4 other cars and something has to go.. other stuff is online too.... cant move it all..... Id keep it otherwise.. If you buy, please make deposit as soon as you win bid. And please don't bid if you aren't sure. These adds are expensive. Vehicle is as is where is and buyer must arrange shipping. I have it inside and can hold it for 30 days unless you make alternate arrangements with me. I can help Your shipper load. That is all now problem. Questions are welcome.....916....208.....0727...… |
