Description of 1966 Ford F-100

1966FORD F-100 Long Bed Truck

This truck was purchased several years ago as a father and son project. Much of the work listed below had been completed prior to our purchase, and some additional work has been done since we bought it. Overall, the truck runs well, and gets many compliments when we take it for a spin. It's a great truck, and doesn't need much to be a finished project.

My son has stumbled upon a very unique Mustang project, which is why this truck needs to be sold.

The following has been completed onthe truck:

1. Rear End– Rear end has a 3.00 gear ratio with 31 spline axles. It was out of a 1976 F100. This rear end is 3 inches wider than a stock 1966rear end. Brakes have less than 200 miles on them. When changing brakes one dayyou will be asking for parts for the 1976 F100. Rear of truck was lowered 4inches using the DJM drop shackles and hangers. The rear end gear oil waschanged with swap and has less than 100 miles on it.

2. Front End– Front end was changed to a DJM Dream Beam set up andlowered 3.5 inches. Drop shocks were added. All new bushings, tie rods, draglinks, and radius rod bushings were added. Not sure how many miles are on thebrakes. Extra brake parts come with the truck.

3. Drivetrain– Trans is a 3-speed original with the 1966. Theshifter was moved from the column to the floor using a Mr. Floor shifter kit.The shift pattern is (Reverse, Left and Up), (1st, Left and down), (2nd, Rightand up), (3rd, right and down) Clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate are brandnew with less than 500 miles on them. Carrier Bearing on driveshaft is brandnew. Rear bushing on trans may need to be replaced, but hasn't beenleaking.

4. Engine– The 300 inline 6 is out of a 1987 F150. It wasoriginally a Fuel Injection motor converted to carb. Motor was rebuilt withless than 5,000 miles on it. Distributer is an GM HEI one wire style that ismachined for the Ford engine. Electric fuel pump under hood. There is a toggleswitch under the dash near steering column that will kill the fuel pump power.Radiator is a new aluminum 3 core.

5. Air conditioning– The AC system is a Cold Master setup. It is a AC/Heatercombo unit. The heater hoses are not hooked up, but the heat unit is in place. The Freon used is 134A.

6. Wiring– Each electrical circuit has a separate relay. Thefuse box that was original is still in use under the dash. The relays are usedfor AC/ Heater, Fuel Pump, Ignition. All relays have a separate inlinefuse.

7. Interior– Seat has new upholstery. Steering column wasshortened 1.5 inches. New carpet kit. Sound a heat proofing under carpet. Brandnew gas tank and sending unit. The speedometer works, but needs a newcable. Fuel gauge works, but is a little off. If the sending unitwas adjusted, the fuel gauge would be more exact. The stereo needs to bewired up and speakers added. There are speaker holes in the door panels already. The truck needs a headliner.

8. Wheels– Tires are normal Goodyear wranglers that were shaved downto expose white walls. Less than 500 miles on them. Hubcaps are off a 1965 FordFalcon. Wheels are standard 5 on 5.5 lug pattern.

9. Tailgate– Not sure what year it is off but it is a goodworking tailgate that is good shape.

10. Paint– The body is Hot Rod Flatz “British Racing Green”. Theinterior is painted with a 2K Urethane “Wimbledon White”. Grille and front-endparts painted with 2K Urethane “Wimbledon White”.

11. Bed -The bed of the truck needs the most attention as seen in thephotos. The truck bed floor has rusted through in all the usuallocations. We have removed the bed and checked the frame for any damage, and found none.

12. Hood- The hood has the typical metal pull/tears at oneside where the hinge attaches. Many of these old Fords have issues hereas the owners would try to slam the hood and cause it to damage the hingeattachment points. The current hood on the truck is functional, but does need attention at the passenger side hinge point.

13. Power Steering- A power steering kit has been added to the truckwithin the last few months. It makes driving the vehicle so much better thanit was before. Since it is lowered and has a higher gear ratio in the rearend, driving this truck down the highway at 70 doesn't feel like a 1966 truckof any type. It rides well, and is much easier to steer than before. The front endneeds to be aligned, but I haven't taken into the shop to have thisaddressed. I simply haven't had the time to deal with it.

There are extra parts that are included with the truck including a passenger front fender that is in good condition. The one on the truck has a tear in the metal, so this would be a great replacement for it.

We have over $5,500.00 invested in this truck, and will sell to the highest bidder. At auction close, a deposit of $500.00 placed through PayPal within 48 hours is required. The balance of the auction is due on or before picking up the vehicle.

I've bought and sold multiple vehicles on ebay with no issues. Setting up shipping is relatively easy, and I'm available to answer questions and/or to help load from my end. Shipping arrangements and fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
