Description of 1973 Ford Ranchero Restomod |
The hood scoop and blackout details make this 1973 Ford Ranchero Restomod look menacing. And the 400+ hp stroker V8 certainly backs up that impression. But as impressive as this one is for power, it also surprises in the details, too, like the comfy A/C interior. The power of this Ranchero is as clear to see as black and white, literally. The ceramic grey metallic paint has the white-like glow of porcelain, and that's thanks to a recent professional application. It looks so good that even the bumpers were painted for a more modern appearance. And adding distinction is a well-done blackout package. The full black hood with big power scoop is what first grabs all the attention, and that goes with the roof, grille, headlight bezels, trim, and full-length stripes for a well done dark side. Even the wheels are done in black, and the extra meaty rear ones give this a mean stance. But even with all this menacing appearance, detail lovers also will recognize the quality in this one. It's everywhere from the liner paint in the bed that matches the black details, to the red pinstriping around the full-length stripes and tailgate that draw a little extra attention. More of the blackout presentation continues inside. They made a solid investment in places like the carpeting, door panel, dash, and headliner to keep this Ranchero feeling fresh. And the black seat has a silver inserts that stand out in all the darkness (so people will really notice the cool ostrich pattern.) Features like an AM/FM/cassette stereo with upgraded speakers and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning make this a nice place to spend some time. Of course, the centrally-mounted Summit Racing gauge upgrade w/shift light and B&M floor shifter are a quick reminder that this is more than just about being a comfortable classic. Under the hood is a fresh-looking package. That's because the 389 cubic-inch stroker V8 was built in 2019 and there's only about 1,000 miles on it. It's a professional build done by United Speed World. It was enhanced and fortified with Aussie heads, upgraded cam, Edelbrock intake, Petronix ignition, Holley fuel pump, and a large aluminum radiator. The mighty motor inhales deeply with a Holley 670 Ultra Street Avenger four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as Hedman headers feed the rumbling dual exhaust. The full package is rated at 410 hp 450 lb-ft torque. The Ford four-speed AOD has a reverse manual valve body to give you the ultimate in control over the motor. This feeds a stout 9-inch rear with limited-slip and 3.73 gears for confident take-offs. Plus, power steering and power brakes w/discs up front keep it all under your control. Complete with build receipts, this is a big power machine that really looks the part. And it even has the recent investments and extra features that you're going to love.
