Description of 1970 Ford Mustang Restomod Convertible |
When you have a performance-built fuel-injected V8, five-speed stick, custom suspension, custom A/C interior, and so much more contained in an iconic 1970 Ford Mustang convertible, then this restomod pony car is so unique it needs a proper nickname. Meet Rockin' Horse. The name Grabber Orange is appropriate because it snatches your attention and doesn't let go. It's a legendary Ford color that really makes enthusiasts pay attention. But more than iconic, the color means you can really distinguish the black features like the hood stripe, hood scoop, and blacked-out rear. Plus, that custom rocker stripe has a cool airbrush fade and custom graphics proudly displaying the Rockin' Horse special logo in the fender. And since the black convertible top looks nice and crisp, this one of the few convertibles that looks good even when buttoned-up to the world. While the color package looks nice, don't forget to check out the details, because there's a ton of them. All the brightwork is shining: from the chrome bumpers to window trim. There are nicely integrated pieces, like the Mach 1-style rear spoiler, clear headlights, and turn signals on the back of the hood scoop. And those Raceline alloys look particularly cool with the color-matched inserts. So while the 1970 Mustang is already desirable because it's a unique design year, this one proves it's truly distinct from every angle. Inside the color theme is reversed. You now have a full black interior, and the Grabber Orange is used for vivid accenting on the custom seat piping, door panel piping, and custom Rockin' Horse logos embroidered within them. There's less than 2,200 miles on the whole build, and so everything feels fresh and supple, right down to the carpeting. This is built to be a true driver's machine, and it starts with the seats. You have Corbeau Sport GT bucket seats that have terrific bolstering and finished in a premium leather. There are comfort features like an armrest center console, cup holders, and a Flaming River tilt steering column. Plus, this gets your enthusiast blood pumping with the grippy sports steering wheel, performance shifter, and full AutoMeter gauge pack with large speedo and tach. Power windows and a power convertible top mean you never have to leave the driver's seat whenever you want a wind-in-your-hair experience. Plus, cold-blowing R134a air conditioning keeps you cool while looking cool behind the wheel. And there's even an AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input and a full custom subwoofer stereo system for the best in driving music. Of course, the growl of the exhaust will always be your real favorite soundtrack. The custom presentation continues under the hood. The smooth color-matched inner walls give you a bright engine bay where it's easy to see all the upgrades, like the full bracing system, upgraded pulleys, and large aluminum radiator w/electric fan. But what you're really interested in is the monster in the middle. It's a Ford 5.0-liter crate motor that has all the right go-fast goodies, like GT40 aluminum heads, MSD distributor, Mallory coil, and shorty headers feeding the rumbling dual exhaust. And the Mass-Flo electronic fuel injection system not only adds to the performance, but also it means this classic fires up as readily as a modern Mustang. Because this is such a nicely upgraded performance package, they also added a stout Tremec five-speed manual transmission to give you firm control over it all. As you look over the undercarriage photos, you're going to spot more great upgrades, like the Ron Morris Performance tubular control arm front suspension, QA1 and KYB shocks, and a stout Ford 9-inch rear end. Plus, power steering, grippy Nitto NT555 tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled & slotted rotors means this Rockin' Horse is firmly in your command. The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos. This is a one-of-kind custom convertible that turns heads and keeps you all smiles. So don't miss your opportunity, call today! |
