Description of 1957 Ford Other Styleside |
First year for the Style side body style. Beautiful old 'gal, this San Diego native has that "To Die For" patina that makes these old trucks such a joy to own. The first year of the Fordomatic 3-speed transmission is an extra-rare factory upgrade that adds value to this time capsule! The clean and straight 1/2 ton short box is powered by a sweet-running V8 Y-Block 272 CID/145hp. I had searched long and hard to find such a well-preserved 'patina monster' Ford F100 truck. A good friend of mine had this truck for over 10 years, stored under a carport at his Ramona, CA ranch. Story was that it was previously owned since new by his buddy's Dad. The Dad passed away about 27 years earlier (37 years ago total from today) and the truck was stored in the warm and dry climate of inland La Mesa, CA. Mother Nature baked the paint into perfection. Very solid truck, good gaps, etc. Original paint was "Willow Green" but painted white years ago. Nice OG paint bleed through in a number of spots. Over 4k of mechanical work was recently performed to make this long-dormant baby a humming machine again. Some of the work performed included new gas tank and fuel lines, new brakes throughout, new hoses, wiring as needed, new radiator, new interior seat upholstery. Transmission was completely serviced. Engine absolutely purrs after a comprehensive full tune service. All fluids new. Engine was rebuilt approximately 7k miles prior by the original owner before he passed many years ago, so it did not need to be rebuilt. All lights and blinkers and horn work. Front FORD emblem is off the truck and will need re-attachment. Wiper motor needs service or replacement. Sun visor is absent and interior cab ceiling material is gone. Interior cab light housing is absent. Both original side mirrors are off the truck, but can be remounted by new owner. Truck could stand a set of new tires. Otherwise, mechanically ready to roll! A full invoice of over 4k of work service performed will be provided to new owner. Truck is presently at my mechanics in Santee, CA San Diego East County. Serious inquires only, but can be viewed by appointment at shop. All one has to do is look at Ebay, Hemmings Motor News, Classic Car Trader, etc to see how much $$$ these old 1950's Ford trucks are going for. With the trend toward appreciation of the patina-trucks, these short bed (and rare Automatic) versions are a solid and enjoyable driving investment. Other option is to use this truck as the base for a complete restoration. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE!!!
