Description of 1966 Ford Thunderbird |
Up for auction is my 84 year old neighbors always garaged and pampered 1966 Thunderbird Coupe. Its in very nice original condition both inside and out and shows beautifully. The car runs and drives really smoothly, its quiet reliable and comfortable. The big 428 runs strong and smooth, it was completely rebuilt by a professional shop less then 20k miles ago. The transmission shifts strong and the entire drivetrain is working flawlessly at 54 years old. Paint is lacquer and its a deep cobalt blue which looks black at night. The owner tried to fix some rock chips and blemishes on the hood with some fine sand paper and a touch up spray can which didn't turn out as well as he'd hoped so the hood will need a quick respray but other then that the rest of the paint and brightwork is very presentable. Interior looks great although the seats, door panels and carpet have some wear that id consider good driver quality. Dash pad and headliner are unblemished. Original AC equipment all in place but will need a new freon charge. All interior lights as well as exterior (including sequential flashers) are all working. Power Windows and vent windows are working good, rear 1/4 glass do no not work. New tires, brakes and front suspension was just completed/installed. Trunk is nice shape with original weatherproofing and padding in place. So overall this is a very nice driver with no rust or serious body damage. With a small investment and some elbow grease this would be proud to be at any car show, its ready to be driven everyday as is now without disappointment.
