Description of 1968 Ford Galaxie XL

Up for auction today is my beautiful survivor status '68 Ford Galaxy 500 XL Fastback.
If you'd like to make an offer, contact me. Don't ask what I'll take...this is an auction...if you'd like to make an offer just call me with that number you'll pay. I can post an agreed upon number by adding a Buy It Now option here on Ebay.
To say this is a nice 1968 Model year car is an understatement. This car is just about the best original I've seen in over 35 years of Collecting in cars. Have picture of the original title.
390 2 barrel Automatic transmission. Power steering and brakes. Odometer reads a bit over 16000 miles I believe this to have turned over once. Beautiful car!
The paint overall looks to be 80 to 90 percent original. Top of front fenders and hood looks to have been painted at some point. Looks great. NO RUST PATCH UPS! Solid frame and under body! Very straight body and lines. Car shines. There are a few nicks, dings, scuffs..... Nothing terrible. Just mostly an original car that's had great care.
The performance lower white body strip looks to be original to the car.
You are not getting into any rust issues here. see pictures of the under body
This car runs and drives like it looks. The interior is excellent! Has aftermarket Sears Air conditioner! Installed in 1970, receipt for it's installation in glove box!... Does work, but needs freon. Dash, door panels, rear package deck everything above average! Radio works flawlessly! Dash is un cracked and very very nice, door panels original and excellent. Headliner beautiful. Carpet is complete not torn, a bit of fading though, but very nice. No funny smells. Gauges are clear and crisp and work properly.
I have the original wheels and wheel covers. They are on 15 inch whitewall radials.
These Torque thrust wheels and tires are in new condition. Swap out to the originals whenever you want!

I was lifting the trunk mat that is held down with adhesive. There was a build / Broadcast sheet under there! It was tearing so i covered it back up and left it there.
There is another under the front seat!!
Also the trunk floor is perfect and rust free, as well as the the floors and frame. See pictures.

This is an original car...not restored. Has had the BEST of care for 52 years. Shows age here and there. but is a terrific car!
This car has always been garaged. Owned by an older gentleman who treasured his belongings. He lived to be a 100 years old. In fact he passed on his 100th birthday. He was a life long barber and his wife was school teacher.
I keep it indoors.
