1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD PRO-STREET PROJECT WITH NEW ENGINE!!! START A PROJECT THAT YOU CAN FINISH- I CAN'T!!! ADDED INFO: Car comes with grille(s), bumpers, gravel pan, complete doors (have all parts), door glass, trim, lights. This Tbird started life in Arizona, went to California, then was sold to the Indiana resident I purchased it from. Still has the Arizona title with my name as purchaser...can obtain a new Indiana title if buyer wants. I have invested about $35,000 in the car and engine. The car has been media blasted, and the frame and suspension rebuilt by Risk Racecraft in Indianapolis, one of the nation's top race car suspension shops. I am a big guy, and when I tried to get into one of these small Birds, I did not fit...so I had the floor lowered and the interior enlarged- it can now fit someone 6'-5" and 250# comfortably. Steel plate floor, new frame structure, 4 link rear. The rear suspension is a GT Mustang, narrowed to fit (the car has not been tubbed), 4 link with track bar, disc brakes on all 4 corners, coilovers on all 4 corners, rebuilt front suspension, new rack and pinion steering from Flaming River. Firewall in stock location, big block Lincoln engine set back, all engine and trans mounts in place. Steel doors and trunk lid, fiberglass front fenders and hood- this is not race car fiberglass, these are street weight pieces, very sturdy. Your choice- you can install the glass pieces like a stock steel front end or make a one-piece tilt up if that's your deal. ENGINE:The engine is a 510 cu. in. 1967 MEL Lincoln, BRAND NEW WITH DYNO TIME ONLY, featuring the best of everything: Arias custom pistons, Scat rods, stroker crank, Isky roller cam, Harland Sharp roller rocker arm assemblies, Slover Porting (in Sunnyside, CA) did the heads, ported, new guides, Manley Valves. Engine assembled by an Engine Masters winner!!! The vintage Isky cam is perfect for a street engine, good idle, good street manners for 500HP and 600ftlbs of torque! Runs on 93 unleaded!! Tunnel ram included...not the sheet metal manifold in the photos, that was a gag shot. If you are a hard core racer, swap the cam out for a bigger grind and get 650HP...I wanted primarily a street cruiser. TRANSMISSION: The transmission is a big in, big out Ford Toploader from a 1969 428 big block Torino. These are very hard to find date coded, the trans is worth a lot to a restorer. It has been completely rebuilt and is ready to go. New Hurst Competition Plus 4 speed shifter is included. Trans has been mounted to a custom modified aluminum bellhousing, and the flywheel and clutch are mounted and ready to run. A new flywheel and clutch are installe, along with a new hydraulic throwout bearing.WHAT's INCLUDED & WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BUY: Everything that has been mentioned in the description is included. There is not a lot of the soft interior left...no seats, but I do have the door panels and all the trim pieces, the steering wheel and shaft, the dashboard, some instruments. The You will have to buy a new windshield (the original is included but is cracked) paint, a drive shaft, a fuel tank, and an exhaust system. Big Block headers are included, along with laser cut header flanges for the Lincoln engine. Tires and wheels are new and are included. Car is a roller. I can send additional photos if you need to see any individual parts. PAYMENT AND PICK UP: IF YOU ARE READY TO BUY, A $2,000 PAYPAL DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED. ONCE I HAVE THAT, I WILL SEND WIRING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE BUYER FOR A BANK WIRE FOR THE BALANCE OF THE AGREED-UPON PRICE. PICKUP WILL BE IN INDIANAPOLIS. I think it would be best if the new owner picked up the Bird in person, so we can go through all the parts and pieces and make sure everyone is satisfied. Thanks for looking, I think you will be very happy with the quality of what is being offered.
