PERSONAL STATEMENT/OPINION: Overall the car is in Very Good/Excellent overall condition - ESPECIALLY for a car that is 55 years old. To most it looks virtually brand new. I repainted it ($6,000) approximately 10 years ago and have had it garaged and covered it since - putting less than 300 miles on it the paint job.
The original engine (rebuilt) is clean and runs great.
The original transmission (rebuilt) is strong and shifts smooth.
I had the original Interstate 4100 Four Barrel Carb rebuilt a few months ago - less than 30 miles on it.
The convertible top is black canvas and is very good condition with clear plastic window (see photo).
Tires have plenty of tread but are older. I drive on them to local car shows, Hot August Nights etc. but would replace them if I were driving long distances. The instruments all work. The temp gauge works great. The amp meter works great. The oil pressure gauge works but shows pressure on the lower “safe range” - the engine oil pressure is actually very strong measuring approximately 80 full pounds - which would put the gauge at the high “safe range”. The gas gauge works but shows only one quarter full - the minute it gets low I always top it off so it’s never been a problem. The speedometer is the very unique and cool “thermometer” style and works great. When I purchased the car prior to my restoration the odometer was not working and was at 97,588 - I never hooked it back up due to the fact that I didn’t think I would ever sell her. This has always been a “weekend” and “car show” car for me and for the last two decades has primarily been garaged and covered.
The actual miles driven since the rebuild/restoration is around 22,000 miles or less.
Like most from this time, the original AM/Antennae radio is not working - but the face plate and knobs are in great condition. I rarely if ever listen to a radio when I’m driving my convertibles so I had no need to replace it. A special custom Thunderbird replacement AM/FM is available here on Ebay for only $182.54 with free shipping (LISTED AS: RetroSound 1964-66 Ford Thunderbird Laguna Radio AM/FM AUX RetroRadio Stereo)
All the windows are electric and all motors are working - but sometimes the switches can be intermittent and may have to be juggled. The “wing windows” are even electric. There now is a beautiful Window Switch Assembly 7 Hole Type for 65-66 T-Bird (B14528) from Larry's T-Bird for around $300 for the future.
The steering wheel is the “Swing Away” and is working. (Note: I ALWAYS make sure it is LOCKED in the Park position when parked - especially on inclines. The “Swing Away” is a great option - but is known for only being reliable when parked and set properly.) Parking brake is working but I always carry a set of chocks (included in sale) for double safety.
The Factory Optional Air Conditioning is disconnected (took the belt off years ago) due to my NEVER using it. It was blowing ice cold when I took the belt and two pulleys (included in sale) off for better gas mileage, less pull/wear on engine etc.
The paint is EXCELLENT with very little wear. I noticed a very MINOR shade variation small spot on the trunk which is almost impossible to even see - It’s so minor that I had a collector friend inspect the paint and he couldn’t even find it. (photo included)
Interior is original and in very good shape. (Normal minor cosmetic 'fixes" over the years) Custom black floor mats front and back with white T-Bird insignia.
Chrome is overall in very good condition. Bright, clean and straight.
I personally painted the Air Cleaner Holder from factory gold to Satin Black per my personal preference. I will paint the original gold if desired by buyer.
She has a new full tune-up. New Plugs, Points, Condenser, Rotor, Timing, Oil Change, Air Filter, Gas Filter, Carb Adjusted - the works!
Dual exhaust with Glass Packs added for deep rumbling sounds
Also includes a brand new set of front driver/passenger black/chrome retractable seat belts.
QUESTION: Why am I selling her?
ANSWER: I moved here to Northern Nevada about 10 years ago from Southern CA. I only have room now for six cars. I recently purchased another Vette - so I need to make garage room. Were it not for that I WOULD NOT sell her!
I have been an Ebay'er since 1999 - which includes my selling numerous classic cars - with a 100% approval rating

On Jul-06-20 at 21:17:21 PDT, seller added the following information:

UPDATE MONDAY JULY 6: During this auction, I will constantly be refreshing and continuing detailing etc. Happy to report that today I was able to get the original gas gauge working far more accurately. As I earlier disclosed, before it would stick at 1/4 when full - now reads close to full when actually at or near capacity.
I also was asked if the dash and sun visors were sun damaged or cracked. All are in very good condition - no cracks an no visible damage. Actually less wear or sun exposure due than normal due to it being stored/covered for so many years.
Was also asked if the console arm rest was cracked. It was at one time, but was repaired and refreshed.
Furthermore, I had a carb specialist "dial in" the recently rebuilt Interstate 4100 Carburetor - Excellent Results! She's purring.
