Description of 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Ram Air CJ |
Up for auction is a real deal "R" Code 428 CJ Mustang built in Dearborn and shipped to DSO 21 (Atlanta). The chassis has 73K miles on it. The engine is a date correct NOM 428. The Current Ohio title is shown as "Non-ACTUAL WARNING" odometer discrepancy. due to the motor change. What makes this so special is the condition of the body. Aside from a patch panel in the left quarter panel due to it being bumped (I have the removed section) every panel is virtually rust free and original to the vehicle (see picture inside of doors showing original Mach 1 stripes). (View the underside of the trunk complete with original tags). The exterior not including the jambs was painted at some point in the past. To satisfy legal "NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AS TO CONDITION OF PARTS. VEHICLE IS AS IS WHERE IS" Come see it for yourself or send a representative. I have titles showing the previous ownership from 1978 to the owner I purchased it from who bought it in 1992 the vehicle has not been driven since 1992. I purchased the vehicle in December 2014. When purchased in 1992 the motor was replaced with a date correct 428 and restoration begun on the underside of vehicle and some interior work begun. All four corners have new brake systems with assumed to be correct factory markings applied (see pictures) as well as reproduced factory markings on the drive shaft and correct rear 9" rear end. Included is an extensive amount of research on correct paint markings. color codes. engine details etc. I have 4 build sheets. One is very legible. one very legible but incomplete and 2 barely legible but readable. Theoretically you could put it all back together and drive it. however at this time I believe it is time to do a concours restoration on a very original example. You can rebuild em many times but very seldom do you start with an example this clean and relatively rust free. I no longer have the resources to do this vehicle properly and want it in the hands of someone who can. Many NOS parts come with the vehicle including spark plug wires. a battery cable. hoses and brand new in the box cloisonne Mustang emblems. An after market new fuel tank and NOS fuel sending unit with filler hose are included. The bumpers are driver quality now and will be show quality after chroming. To the best of my knowledge all of the old body parts are with the car including exhaust tips. "NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AS TO PARTS INCLUDED. VEHICLE IS AS IS WHERE IS" Known items: The snorkel to the ram air cleaner is missing as is the smog set up. Radiator is incorrect for vehicle. Bid expecting to own the vehicle as reserve can change at any time. Vehicle is for sale locally and auction could end at any time. |
