Description of 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4x4 |
This 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT is truly for the bold. It's a lifted 4x4 with beefy features, a custom A/C interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and serious V8 power under the hood. So dig into all the details on a well-done blackout pickup that's equal parts ability and intimation. This truck does a great job of mixing black and shine. It starts with a quality respray of the factory-correct Raven Black later in life. It has the right kind of gloss to go nicely with all the brightwork. The 1979's special grille is looking bright; it has the full tailgate inserts; and there's the complete full side trim package that came on this premium-level XLT Lariat package. This is joined by bright upgrades, including the custom bumpers, including the front one with integrated lights and winch (will need servicing.) And those polished 17-inch Eagle alloys add to the flair while also allowing for more modern tires. This is a true pickup for stylish function. That's why you have handy features like the lock box in the liner paint protected bed, side steps, and a proper Class 3 trailer hitch with trailer brake and all the wiring plugs you'll need. The interior keeps the classic black style, but there have been investments in all the right modern comforts. The seat is still a bench that can sit three across, but now it's an upgrade with silver inserts and a lizard skin-like textured insets. And the fold-down armrest turns this into a bucket seat level of comfort whenever you want. The door panels are a thoughtful unifying detail that includes silver inserts to match the seats as well as a hint of wood-like trim, just like the dash. There are more great comfort features, like an AM/FM/CD/stereo, cup holders, and the factory steering wheel is on a tilt column. You'll love opening up the rear window for classic truck breezes, but any time that's not enough, the air conditioning is also blowing nice and cold. Under this hood is serious blue oval power. This was upgraded to Ford's largest big block, the 460 cubic-inch V8 (the consignor states there's 2,500 miles on the motor.) Plus, it has been upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, headers. You'll even spot nice supporting components like dual batteries. This is a powerful setup that's easy to enjoy thanks to power steering and a three-speed automatic transmission. In fact, this one was built to go farther thanks to features like cruise control and dual fuel tanks. And going farther also means when the pavement ends. That's why you have the two-speed 4x4 transfer case, Ranchero shocks on the lifted suspension, and Goodyear Wrangler tires. No matter if you're on the highway of the trail, the four-wheel power disc brake upgrade with drilled & slotted rotors is always welcomed. Rugged, useful, powerful, and absolutely beautiful, this is the classic 4x4 that gets it all right. So you know you don't want to let it slip away. Call today!!! |
