Description of 1965 Ford Mustang RACING STRIPES |
THE ORIGINAL COLOR ON THIS 1965 MUSTANG WAS RAVEN BLACK. The red Shelby racing stripes are painted on and look good. The car is power by a sweet sounding 289 engine and came from Ford A code, thats a 4 barrel carburetor. The car shifts good, its a 4 speed manual transmission. The rear-end has been up-graded to a strong 9 inch Ford. Wheels and tires look new. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK!TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK!GAS GAUGE WORKS! SPEEDOMETER WORKS, BUT FLOATS A LITTLE!WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK! HORN WORKS! HOW IS THE PAINT? I would consider it upper end driver. I see no dents, no dings, no rust bubbles and the shine is very good. I do see some tiny flaws in the raven black A code paint. The read stripes are painted on and have clean edges. It satisfies me, but you could rub and buff to make it more perfect. Its nice paint, just not roll out of the trailer SHOW QUEEN perfect. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? The interior look great! No wear on the seat covers, carpet good, door panels good, dash pad good, head liner looks new, but needs steamed and pulled tighter (it has wrinkles). HOW IS THE ENGINE? I consider it super strong/it has very good power. I hear no knocks or unwanted rattles and see no blue smoke. The fifth digit in the VIN is A, that indicated a desirable 4 barrel carburetor from the factory. It now has a Cobra intake and nice die cast valve covers. It has the blue racing hoses, aluminum pullies and large aluminum radiator. HOW IS THE GLASS? Good glass, no cracks or milky places. The side window roll up and down good. HOW IS THE CHROME? NICE! HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? It is a four speed manual that shifts good. I feel no clutch slip or chatter. HOW IS THE REAR-END? It a big upgrade to a Ford 9 inch. HOW ARE THE BRAKES?The brakes feel very good to me, they are power assisted and the original drums on all four. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? To me it drives very good for a early Mustang. It is not power steering, but not had to steer for me. HOW IS THE EXHAUST SYSTEM? It sounds very good, the loud/deep Muscle Car sound. It has full tube header and is dual to the back. HOW ARE THE TIRES AND WHEELS? They look like new, the REV wheels have the nostalgia look and the tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paws. WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303.
