Interesting Fact: The Mustang was designed, engineered and launched in just 18 months, a monumental feat. The design criterion initially included: seating for four with bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds, no more than 180 inches in length, sell for less than $2,500 and to be offered with many power and convenience options. They nailed it!! This is a beautiful first generation 1964.5 Ford Mustang convertible that is a nice original car that has been sympathetically restored as needed. We love the combination of the white on blue color combination, 289 CID V8 and automatic transmission. This is nice enough for any local or regional show and it drives very well, being well loved for about 20 years by its collector owners! It is now ready for its next new, loving and careful caretaker. We love the look of the sporty rally wheels!! This Mustang was built in the Dearborn, MI plant and was owned previously by Ms. Jensen of East Wenatchee, WA. She sold it to our consignment clients, on February 12, 2001. They bought the Mustang as a worry-free and derivable collector car that they could add to their significant collection of show cars. This car has always been garage kept, well serviced and has never had any rust or rot issues so common with Mustangs. This Mustang was been repainted in Wimbledon White (Paint Code M). The repaint is highly serviceable with great gloss and shine with very straight body panels throughout. It would be proud to be in any local car show, but isnt a concours repaint. There are many small touched up paint chips that are not noticeable. Most all of the chrome and stainless are all original and in very nice condition. The bumpers are all original and look great!! The overall look is very nice and consistent, urging you to drive her out to dinner or for a weekend getaway drive. The interior features Blue with Blue Trim (Trim Code 22) and most all of the vinyl upholstery was replaced with all correct high quality materials. The original blue steering wheel has one small crack on it. The blue loop carpeting looks terrific and it is obvious that shes seen little wear since being installed. The black vinyl electric powered convertible top works beautifully and is in excellent condition. The black vinyl top boot is soft and fits perfectly. The Mustang is a D-Code 289 CID V8 with a four barrel carburetor featuring 210 hp and paired with the C4 three speed automatic. The Mustang now has accumulated 61,600 miles since new and has been loved and cared for its entire life. The entire drive train is tight and the car runs and drives very well. Our 158-point inspection concluded the belief that the mileage is original and correct at 61,600 miles. Everything works as it should except the emergency brake mechanism is frozen and would need attention. The Mustang features front disc brakes and power steering. The Mustang comes complete with various receipts and documentation from the past two decades. Also included are two sets of keys, with one set being the original Ford set. This Mustang does not have an owners manual or tire lug wrench. It has a retro style AM/FM cassette and CD changer integrated in with nice speakers mounted in the kick panels. We have this priced well. The base Hagerty price guide values are: No. 2 example at $39k and a No. 3 value at $31.3k. This wont last long. We love the early Mustang convertibles.
