Description of 1953 Ford F-100

This 1953 Ford F-100 pickup doesn't break any new ground, but what it does offer is a classic look that's supremely well-executed and powered by reliable Chevy V8 power. Arguably the best-looking pickup of the 1950s, the F-100 makes a great-looking hot rod without altering a single panel, and if you crave attention, this truck delivers in a big way.
Blue always works well on pickup trucks, but the slick Blue Metallic finish on this one is so vivid that you need sunglasses to look directly at it. None of the old Ford's beautiful body lines was altered during the build, but everything was expertly restored and fitted, so the gaps are exacting and even the big hood fits neatly with the fenders. It's the kind of detail that you don't notice immediately but gives the whole truck a very strong, driver-quality look that stands up to most scrutiny. Everything is painted to match, too, including the running boards (which offer Ford step plates) and the inside of the bed. All the original chrome and stainless trim was left in place, including the grille and headlight buckets, beautiful Ford F-100 emblems on the hood, and even the taillights are original style with that cool, unique F-1 shape. Bright chrome bumpers give it an old-fashioned look and as is the style with many restored pickups, the bed is still fully functional.
The usual Ford utilitarian interior got a makeover, anchored by a later-model split-bench seat that was cut down and wrapped in soft yet durable cloth and vinyl materials. The two-tone blue seat is accented with woodgrain trim end caps and supported by a drop-down armrest, and all pretext of working for a living has been wiped out, creating a comfortable cockpit that's a pleasure to visit. A tilt steering column with a 3-spoke steering wheel makes it easy to get comfortable, and there's a full set of handsome Omega gauges in the dash. Note how beautifully fitted the headliner is, the custom door panels with integrated chrome handles, and the neatly tailored carpets with matching floor mats, none of which was inexpensive. Sure, there are some very minor signs of use, but the interior still has great, all-together look and feel and is has proven that it will stand up to the test of time. R134a powered A/C was installed out of the way under the dash, leaving the expanse of blue dashboard as your connection to the past. There's also a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo right above it, but we're guessing you won't use it simply because the engine's note through the dual exhaust is so much better.
A familiar 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 lives under the hood, and with that great reliable horsepower and torque on tap, it's a lot of fun to drive. The small block motor is dressed up with chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner, and you'll note that good attention was paid to the underhood areas, so the inner fenders and firewall are neatly finished. A 4-barrel carburetor on a performance intake makes plenty of power and a modern serpentine belt drive system for the accessories makes service easy. The big radiator cools the whole show with ease and as I mentioned, the stock-style manifolds feed a true dual exhaust system with tips exiting underneath the rear bumper. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end are reliable pieces of the puzzle and it sits exactly right on those chrome Foose wheels and fat 275/55/17 radials.
Beautifully built, neatly finished, and well-maintained ever since, this is a slick Ford truck that will attract a lot of attention and still put a big smile on the driver's face. Call today!
