Description of 1966 Ford Thunderbird |
1966 Q-Code 428 Ford Thunderbird. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of background on this car as I purchased this vehicle a couple of years ago from the estate of a man that had purchased it in order to join a local Thunderbird club with his best friend. The car is yellow (the trim tag indicates it was originally Honeydew Yellow). recently repainted. The color is close to the original color. but is darker than the color in the engine compartment. The paint was done well. Options include the 428ci engine. 345 horsepower. dual exhaust. automatic transmission. power windows (including the vent windows) and seats. The car had manual vent windows originally. and the handles are still there. At some point they were converted to power (using an original power window console as you can see in the picture). The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts easily and well. The car seems to be mechanically and physically solid. The headliner. door panels and carpet are in good condition. The seats are original. as far as I can tell. and in good shape. The car is very comfortable to drive long distances. The car came with air conditioning. but it does not appear to work. The heater does not heat either. although the fan works. The car is equipped with the AM/8-track radio. but I do not have an 8-track tape to test the system. The radio works well but does not have the original antenna. The trunk is solid as you can see in the pictures. I have not found any indication of body damage or rust. The previous owner removed all of the badges from the car because they are common targets for thieves. but they were included when I bought the car and could easily be reattached. I believe this is a very solid daily driver as is. or it could become a show car with a little work. This is one of only about 6. 00 Q-code hardtops built and is rapidly becoming a head-turning classic for very little money. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see more pictures. Shipping and delivery are your responsibility. but I can deliver the car to Port of Seattle if necessary. Delivery within a reasonable distance of Seattle might be arranged. I have tried to be as honest as possible about the car. You are welcome to have someone come and check it out. It is sold as is where is without warranty or guarantee. |
