STK 2811 1965 Ford Mustang GT Tribute The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the 'pony car'. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. The first generation Mustang was manufactured from 1964 until 1973. This handsome 1965 Mustang GT 'clone' has had a careful restoration (2016) with significant mechanical upgrades. The solid body was professionally reshot in Wilmington White with Blue accent stripes. New exterior components include bumpers, taillights and mirrors. Chrome and stainless trim are excellent and period-correct American Torque Thrust 'D' alloy wheels mount 14" BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The interior was fully restored using 'Pony' theme upholstery – seats, carpeting, door panels, tinted windows and dash are all excellent. New weather-stripping was installed along with new window cranks, handles and knobs. This Mustang was a factory 'T' code car (200ci six), but horsepower is now provided by a built 302ci 'Windsor'. The block was bored .030 over and the intake is a single-plane Edelbrock Performer fitted with a tuned Autolite 4-barrel carb. Other engine upgrades include new distributor, fuel system components, Champion aluminum radiator and Mustang dress-up kit. Tri-Y tube headers are tied to a new custom dual exhaust system with GT 'trumpet' outlets. The 302 runs beautifully and sounds great. Power to the ground is delivered via a 4-speed manual gearbox w/Hurst Comp+ shifter. The solid chassis is equipped with power steering, power disc/drum brakes w/dual master cylinder, shock tower brace, Drake 'Monte Carlo' brace, new control arms/tie rods and new front sway bar. If you want a fun, classic Blue Oval, this sharp Mustang coupe has your name on it. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
