Description of 1935 Ford Other |
I am listing this 1935 Ford five window coupe for a friend. If you have questions beyond what is listed here, please call or text them to (949) 690-3770. This car has undergone an older restoration and is mostly original. The motor is nice and quiet and doesn’t make any funny noises or smoke. It runs like a champ. The car drives great, probably not far off from how it did back 95 years ago. Everything is tight and smooth; the transmission shifts nicely. The motor and transmission are not original to the car. The motor is a 24 stud. For those who wish to identify it, the casting numbers are A2961. In these photos the paint looks like a concours d'elegance car, but in person, you will find nicks and imperfections that are to be expected from an older paint job. It shines up well, but this car has been driven, not parked in a museum. The body itself is VERY straight. All door and trunk gaps are lined up. I did not inspect the interior or remove the door or cowl panels, but I crawled under all the fenders and inspected the whole inside of the trunk and rear quarter panels. I found no signs of rust or patch panels or dents that have been repaired. This is one of the nicest original steel bodies you will find. The interior is an original reproduction by Bonny Lebaron in great condition with no stains or tears. All the old gauges in the dashboard work except the fuel gauge; however, a brand new 1935 fuel tank sending unit comes with the car. In the dash is a really cool spin out ashtray. Beneath the glove box there is some chipping in the paint. The rear window and side windows roll up and down as if brand new. Front window cranks outward. Wheels are the desirable Kelsey Hayes bent spokes. The electrical system is 6 volt. It has an upgraded Optima battery, but because it is taller than the original battery, the metal panel that is supposed to cover it does not fit. But the panel does come with the car. A big folder with two inches of receipts from past decades comes with the car, along with a handful of manuals and brochures. The car has a clear title and is currently registered in California until December, 2021. Although the black license plates seen in the photos will be given to the seller, and can be registered to the car through the DMV, the plates legally registered to the car are newer white plates. Please ask all questions before placing your bid. Interested buyers are encouraged to come and view the vehicle in person, or to hire an inspector to view the vehicle prior to their bidding. Vehicle is sold as is and shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Full payment is due within one week of the auction’s close. This car is listed for sale locally; owner resumes the right to stop bidding prior to auction’s end. On Sep-25-20 at 08:48:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional photos and videos of the car are available for interested bidders. |
