Description of 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible |
***If you have less than 10 feedbacks, you MUST contact me prior to bidding. If you don't, your bid will be canceled and you will be blocked from bidding*** Up for sale on a NO RESERVE auction is a very unique opportunity to own an ALL ORIGINAL '57 Thunderbird in fantastic condition. Please note that the car has never been restored and we believe the miles to actually be only 29k. We are the second owners of the car and we've had it in our garage since 1987. We purchased it from the original owner who stated that these miles were true and actual. We purchased it with only 19k miles and have absolutely babied the car ever since. It has been driven locally once per month approximately 5 miles around town up until about a year ago. We recently had a certified mechanic completely go through the car to make sure that it fires up and is ready to drive. Even after all these years, it starts on the first try and stays running with no misses or hesitations. The car has absolutely ZERO RUST. It has literally been stored exclusively in the garage with no moisture. The dash is not cracked and the interior literally looks like new. One thing worth mentioning is that all four tires are original white-wall tires that have developed a "flat spot" from sitting over the last year. So it does ride bumpy only because of that. We have elected to leave them on so the buyer can choose the tires of their preference. Overall the exterior of the car looks amazing for its' age. It does have some areas where we have applied touchup paint over the years. On the driver fender you can see a small area about half the size of a dime where the paint has chipped off and you can see the black underneath. Although we believe the paint to be original, we cannot 100% guarantee it because it was out of our care from 1957-1986. Both our mechanic and an experienced auto detailer agreed that they believe it to be original. The car is being sold with current registration tags and the old school "pink slip" in hand. We have the car parked for viewing at a car dealership called DriveSmart Motors in Orange County (1935 E. Chapman Ave, Orange 92867). We welcome any and all to come and see the car in person prior to bidding. We will not end the auction early under any circumstances. We are eager to let the market determine the value of the car. Payment must be made in full within 5 days after the auction, so please have your finances in order. We will be available and helpful in shipping but it will be the buyers responsibility to find a shipping company and pay for the shipping. If you have any questions you may send your phone number and we will call you back. |
