Description of 1980 Ford F-250 |
Please note: Due to dishonest bidders in the past. I will need a $250 deposit received within 24 hours after the auction closes and the rest must be paid off and the truck picked up with three weeks after the auction closes. Please consider this carefully before placing a bid. Here is a really nice. one-owner Ford pickup truck with only 111. 20 original miles on it that we are selling for a friend. It came from her father's estate who was the original owner. He kept it garaged when it was not in use and always took really good care of it. This would explain why the frame. body. paint etc. are in such good condition for its age. This truck is the deluxe Ranger XLT edition so it is loaded with factory options including the following: air conditioning. PS. PB. AM/FM radio. tilt steering. heavy-duty automatic transmission. cruise control. under-hood work light. nbsp;deluxe exterior chrome trim with chrome bumpers. nbsp;special tailgate trim center piece. nbsp;custom wheel covers. sliding rear window. deluxe interior with cloth seat and interior trim package. etc. The heater works great. nbsp;and I think the air conditioning works ok too. but because the fan switch seems to be stuck on low (I think it is just a minor jam of some kind that would not take much to fix) I can't get it to put out enough air to make sure. I can hear the compressor kick on and the engine idles a bit slower. so I think the compressor is working ok. I recently drove this truck over 150 miles towing our Toyota on a tow dolly behind it. and it ran and drove great with no problems. It does idle a little rough though. so I think it could use a tune-up. It had been sitting in his garage for a while so it probably needs new plugs. etc. Another thing it also needs is a new exhaust on the rear part of the exhaust (from the muffler to the tail pipe). Even though it needs these parts replaced. it was very quiet and comfortable on our trip--much quieter and comfortable than the Toyota truck we usually drive! Also. it does have some minor rust in a couple of spots (as shown in the photos of the rear outside corner of the bed). I'm including a photo that shows that it has most of its original undercoating and paint on the frame. which is in amazing condition for its age! Other than the rust in the one photo and a small amount on the other side in the same spot. the wheel wells and other areas that are typically rusty on these trucks are in really nice shape! The seat does have a repair on the driver's side. but it looks like they did a pretty good job on it. and the rest of the seat is in fantastic shape. The bed is also very solid with no rust and is not all beat up like many of them this age are. I almost forgot to mention. not only is the paint really nice for a truck this age. but the dash looks like new and doesn't even have any cracks in it--not even in the speaker area. which almost always is cracked in these trucks. (This also shows how keeping a truck in a garage can really extend its life!) Also. I am including an extra set of tires and wheels with the truck. It also comes with a tool box (lock is broken on one side) for the bed and a really nice set of racks you see in the photos. What makes the racks extra nice is not only are they quite a bit more stout than most and are made of heavy square tubing. but they are not welded into mostly one piece like most other truck racks. Instead. nbsp;it is in ten pieces that are bolted together with heavy bolts and nuts. This means you can take just the front off if you don't want the part that overhangs the cab. and of course you can also swing the top bar out of the way when loading stuff. You can also completely disassemble the whole thing and put it in a corner in your shop or garage. If you are looking for a really nice. senior-owned. dependable truck for work. camping or just for hauling. this may be just the truck for you. Taken care of. this truck will last for many years to come. As mentioned earlier. I will need a $250 deposit received within 24 hours after the auction closes and the rest must be paid off and the truck picked up within three weeks after the auction closes. I can help load the truck onto any shipper's trailer for you. or of course you can come and get the truck yourself if you like. Thanks for viewing this auction! I almost forgot to mention. The truck was just serviced with the engine oil and filter changed. transmission serviced with new fluid and filter. nbsp;new gas filter. new air filter. and all of the grease fittings greased. It's ready to go on a trip to its new home! |
