Description of 1966 Ford Mustang |
I've had the pleasure of rebuilding the motor with my father-in-law over the past year. The engine runs great and pulls very strong. Gas pedal is very responsive! Here's a YouTube video of it running with some revs: http://youtu. be/ki_SgOHKzGQAdditional pictures can be found here:https://www. dropbox. com/sh/5383mgw48sxvcds/AABCHzgwxkR0SYQxttYWkR7Ca?dl=0We took our time and did everything by the book. All the new engine components were purchased with lifetime warranty from either O’reily’s. Napa or AutoZone. Tons of other parts were purchased from National Car Depot. Oklahoma Classic Mustangs and the like. Comes with original booklet with original owner’s name with matching VIN typed in booklet from the dealer in 1966. Clean title in hand. I HAVE MOSTLY ALL THE RECEIPTS FOR PURCHASED PARTSEngine has less than 10 miles since we finished the rebuild. Still has break in oil and waiting for you to break her in. Work done to Engine: Vat Block Bored and Honed . 060 over Resurfaced crank . 010-. 010 Valve job and pressure tested Head New Pistons New Bearings New Rings New Cam New Gaskets Rebuilt Factory 1 BBL Carburetor by local carb rebuild specialist New Fuel Pump New Water Pump New Alternator New Starter New Starter Solenoid New Coil New Distributor New Spark Plug Wires and Plugs New Radiator Custom bent Transmission lines to Radiator Rebuilt Torque Converter purchased from local torque converter specialist New Rear Main Seal New Hoses New Battery and Battery Cables Work done to the rest of the car: Rebuilt all brakes with new drums. springs. shoes and cylinders New Upper and Lower Ball Joints New Front Shocks New U- Joint New Dash New Ignition Switch New Key Cylinder New Oil Pan New Gas Tank New Fuel Sender New Fuel Filter New Power Steering Cylinder New Air FilterI have new shocks for the rear but they are not installed. They'll come with the car. Nothing to hide here. The issues with this car are mostly cosmetic and would make for a fun project: Some panels have some rust and probably best to replace them. Body is straight. There a leak on the transmission pan due to weight of engine / tranny when sitting on the floor shifting the pan/gasket. Just replace the pan and gasket and fill with fluid. Should be good to go. Driver seat cover has a hole on the bottom. Some very small holes on passenger seatI lost the ignition switch bezel somewhere during the rebuild. I left the speedo disconnected to pull the ignition switch out from behind the dash . Turn the key and she starts up just fine. I'd recommend getting a new bezel to connect the speedo back up. These are the things I would do to make it confidently road worthy to drive it daily: Interior is in pretty good shape. I'd replace the bottom driver seat cover and the carpets. Rear driver window mechanism is broken. Needs to be replaced. Glass is okay. Get new rear leaf springs Install provided rear shocks Get new bushings for the suspension components New transmission pan and gasket New door lock cylinders. Tires She’s a solid car for anyone looking to own a piece of American history. Drop me a message or ask any questions. I’m happy to answer them. Vehicle is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early if vehicle sells before auction end.
