Description of 1930 Ford Roadster |
This is a very high end, safe, and well-crafted vehicle. Body is hand crafted from 4 x 8 sheets of aluminum. This car has the workmanship of old world master craftsman. Body, rad shell, cowl, firewall, box and box cover are all hand formed and designed. Interior is a hand built work of art. A special die was made to stamp a stitching pattern into the metal.Seats are custom made and arevery comfortable in design. There are several hundred perfectly placed rivet style bolts throughout this car. Doors are suicide design on custom hinges with bear claw latches. Dash is also hand formed with center mounted gauge set, and Stewart Warner classic gauges. Shifter is machined from aluminum, along with steering wheel. Windshield frame is a one off custom design by the builder. Chassis is made from 1 1/4 120 wall ERDV registered tubing and tig welded. Chassis is very well engineered and structurally sound. Powder coated frame, with 10 bolt Chev axle, and auburn center posi with 4:56 gears. Poise 1/4 elliptical rear springs, with custom ride height adjustment. 1940 Ford front axle with cross spring and shocks, Willwood front disc brakes, with aluminum rear drum. Stabilizer shock dampener assisted steering with Vega steering box.Friction front shocks, with Monroe rear shocks. Motor is 1995 GM LT1 converted back to carb and distributor electronic system, with Tremec 6 speed manual transmission.Holly 670 street avenger on GM aftermarket intake, with MSD E curve distributor. Corvette water pump and RPC oil pan.Hand crafted aluminum rad, and hoses. Speedway adjustable brake balancer, with a push / pull parking brake. Master cylinder, clutch reservoirs and pedals are Volkswagen CIP1 set up from The Volkswagen Place. Speedway gas tank with carter electric fuel pump. Motor cycle head lights, with high and low beam, signal lights built into front stanchions. Instrument panel consists of on /off /start key, horn button, headlight switch, with red light to complete alternator circuit. Fuse panel is on drivers side of dash behind removable panel. Battery located under dash with drop down box. Wheels are one off American racing from their custom wheel department. Tires are Firestone 7.50 x 16 rear and 5.60 x 15 front Fuel system is speedway tank with carter electric fuel pump. I have not listed everything above, but as you will see from the pictures, every time you look at it, you notice something different on this piece of art work! Car currently has 5300 miles on it and is very road worthy.Highway driven and street driven without any problems. Award winner and head turner at every show it goes too.
