We bought the car from a Florida dealer in 1997 with the odometer showing about 25,000 miles.Drove it up to New York State and began work on the engine and suspension. Solid body and frame. Has been stored in garage every winter and very seldom driven over last 23 years.Current odometer 28,953. We assume actual mileage is probably 128,953. All restoration bills available. This model has the rear wheel fender skirts.

We began sanding it last year in expectation of having it professionally repainted but have decided we need to simplify our lives and reduce the number of vintage cars we own. Excellent project for someone who can do minor body work and re-paint to have a real cool car! Just recently passed New York State Vehicle Inspection -August 2020. We understand that ours needs some work but believe that it could then be worth in the $25,000 to $30,000 range. Because we sanded it you will see what you get, no hidden rust through on the body. Under-carriage is solid.

Engine is the original 390 cubic inch, 300 horsepower. Was rebuilt by Bloss Machine of Kirkville,New York with high rise camshaft. Was not dyno-tuned but we believe it should be pumping about 330 horsepower. Starts right up with a nice throaty sound through the stainless steel exhaust system.

Over the years we have replaced: Rear Leaf Springs and Front Coil Springs (Heavy Duty – Trailer Suspension), Front and Rear Shocks, Front End Rebuilding Kit (ball joints, tie rods, stabilizer link kit, strut bushing kit, shaft kit (upper inner), lower bushings (Kanter Auto Products, Boonton,New Jersey). Drive Shaft U-Joints, Yoke and Balanced drive shaft (Joseph Sheridan, Inc., Syracuse, New York 13204(9/1/1999).

Stainless Steel Exhaust system. Stainless Steel brake lines.

Installed 1965 front wheel disc brakes with proportioning valve. Stops straight and true.

Holly 4 Barrel Carburetor HLY-0-80457S (Street Defender)installed. The original Ford 4 Barrel also included. We have only used 90+Octane Non-Ethanol Gasoline.

New Sight-Glass, A/C Drier (Classic Auto Air, Tampa, FL)work performed by John Mancino’s Garage, 135-141 Edison Street, Syracuse, NewYork 13204 with A/C compressor (Napa, Syracuse, New York) 8/11/03. We have an extra power assist brake pump, original brake master cylinder, harmonic balancer and a rebuilt unused air conditioner compressor (still in the box and shrink wrapped).

In late 2018 we replaced gas tank, gas tank sending unit, fuel tank strap bolts, fuel lines to gas tank, locking gas cap, lower and upper radiator hoses, power steering belt, power steering pressure hose, oil dipstick, power steering return hose, fuel pump, fuel pump filter, 55 amp alternator, new trunk mat and board, spare tire cover (all parts from Thunderbird Headquarters). Trunk mats& boards & spare tire cover still in box. Extra oil filters (5) and air filters (2).

Original Workshop Manual and new unused Electrical Assembly Manual.

Only issues we know of are: front floor board on driver’s side needs repair, air conditioner needs either recharging, new drier or compressor(see above note on when the air conditioner was refreshed), carpeting could use refreshing, driver’s seat cover needs minor re-stitching, top of inner fender wells need mending (see pictures), missing one hubcap (all should be replaced),all rubber seals (doors, windows, trunk and fender skirt rubber) need replacing.
