Ford 52 Sedan Delivery. Rebuild in 2004. Previous owner is now deceased (Covid, July 2020) and this car was part of his estate. The mechanical portion of the car was done in the owners shop by professionalmechanics. The 290 HP Blown Flathead engine was built by Earl Floyd at Battle GroundWashington. Earl has in excess of 40 years of experience building Flatheads. Theengine has a Mild Cam and Aluminum Heads as well as other performance features. TheBlower and other Induction System Components were provided by RoadrunnerEngineering of Albuquerque New Mexico. The engine is equipped with Mallory Ignitionand MSD Equipment to adjust the timing to preclude engine damage during high boostconditions. Exhaust by Reds Headers and Flow Masters. The car was completely dismantled for frame off preparation and new componentinstallation. The entire suspension was supplied by Jamco Engineering of NovatoCalifornia and includes power Disks front and Drums rear, anti-sway bars front and rearand new springs front and rear. A remanufactured Ford 8” differential was installed withnew drive shaft. The entire under body was seal coated. The car is equipped with Power Steering and Brakes. The transmission is aremanufactured GM 700 R4 with automatic overdrive. The Engine turns 2200 RPM @70 MPH. Fuel economy is in the range of 18 – 21 miles per gallon. All engineaccessories, i.e.: carburetion, alternator, starter etc were new. The Cooling System includes a Jamco 4-cor Radiator with a polished copper tank. Twoelectrically powered fans provide cooling, both thermostatically controlled. The body, when removed, was sand-blasted for inspection. Some rust was found. Inevery case, these locations were removed and replaced with remanufactured panels. The top was chopped 4.5 inches front and 4 inches rear. The front windshield posts weretilted back and the “B” Pillars tilted forward. The hood was louvered. Headlights,Taillights and Parking Lights were frenched, as well as the power antenna. The interior was done by the Big M Upholstery Shop in Meridian Idaho. A three colorscheme was carried throughout the interior. The original dash was modified to include additional gauges. All instrumentation wererebuilt. The front seats are power operated. Heat and cooling is by Vintage Air. The exterior is painted with Lexus Imperial Jade and Silver Jade Pearl. This car was professionally built by Quality Craftsmen. It is driven regularly and runsperfectly. No expense was spared in building this vehicle. The owner (now deceased) had known this car since 1954 and purchased it from the original owner. Approximately $130,000 was spent on the rebuild. There is some wear on the interior and the belts can squeak if belt conditioner is not used. That is about all I know about the car, however I have a lot of documentation about the restoration with receipts and pictures. I will not be much help with detailed questions as I am not personally familiar with the car. If you have questions I will do my best to answer them and send pictures etc. If you need more than that you will have to ask Jack the other side of the pearly gates. |
