Description of 1928 Ford Model A Fordor Leatherback Sedan |
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this highly original, 1928 Ford Model A Fordor Leatherback Sedan for consideration. At first glance, it's just another Model A. Look a little deeper and there is something special here. The Fordor Leatherback Sedan is a highly optioned and very rare configuration. The car retains a very nice original structure and appears to never have been disassembled and restored. The interior appears to be highly original including mohair upholstery, original hardware, original steering wheel, original rear illumination light and original rear shade. The exterior steel appears to be factory having been painted once, maybe twice. Under the hood lies Fords bullet proof inline 4 cylinder Model A motor that has been converted to 12 volt. The firewall appears to retain its original factory paint. The frame structure is excellent. The car is presented in Balsam Green with black lower belt and 6 Old Ivory spoked wheels with dual side mounted spares skinned with BF Goodrich Silverthorn tires, and Black full vinyl roof. Mechanically, this Model A starts with ease (if you are familiar with starting a Model A), runs and drives very well. The odometer reads 25041, not claiming they are original, but a close look at the car will cause you to wonder. The Ford Model A is quite possibly the most reliable car ever built. Their simple yet rugged mechanicals have kept them on the road for 94 years and running. The example here is a highly original, honest example that at this price point is a very affordable piece of automotive history. |
