Description of 1931 Ford Roadster

1931 Ford Roadster

Well, I'm not braggin', babe, so don't put me down But I've got the fastest set of wheels in town When something comes up to me, he don't even try 'Cause if I had a set of wings, man, I know she could fly She's my little deuce coupe You don't know what I got Just a little deuce coupe with a flat head mill But she'll walk a Thunderbird like she's standin' still She's ported and relieved, and she's stroked and bored She'll do a hundred and forty with the top end floored She's my little deuce coupe You don't know what I got.

For consignment the quintessential example of the early hot rod in great condition and use of many different pulled together parts to create a custom rodder. Doors were cut flush, the rear has been bobbed, a '32 dash, '32 grille, '32 bumper, and marine grade Naugahyde tuck and roll interior, it cannot get any more custom. Some spit under the hood just add go juice and let the arm drop happen, or better yet have one of the gals drop a hanky.

Exterior
Midnight Blue (my favorite color! just put in a quarter for the ribbed version...) adorns this classic racer/tool around town and garner all the looks vehicle. Beautifully proportioned steel panels and curves allow this car to go topless and it looks just fab. Chromed large headlights held together with a single chromed bar stretch across the front '32 grille and radiator surround. Curvaceous fenders and a common running board frame the edges of this car and present much like a posing Playboy centerfold with their sensuous curves. A cowled hood, custom made windshield frame, flush cut doors and a bobbed rear that has dual exhausts peeking out from underneath the hot rod look is defined right here. Lest we forget the corners which are framed with deep trim rings and moon cap dog dish style wheel covers all shiny and bright wrapped by 245/70-R15's on back and 205/60-R15's in front. Paint on some red pinstripe flourishes all buttoned up to be a rad rod.

Interior
Custom patterned and stitched tuck and roll red naugahyde panels cover the door panels and bench seat inside. These all float in a sea of clean black carpeting which I curled my toes and wiggled them deep into this covering. It's that nice. Hovering above is a Midnight Blue metal dash with a chromed oval panel peppered with white faced gauges and black letters and numbers. A rally size banjo style steering wheel is covered with red naugahyde, and just to drivers right is a dash top mounted oval rear-view mirror proves to look very debonair and of period. Also noted is a long shift lever rising to the heavens topped with a flame ball topper and deep blue boot well within reach of the driver. A shout out to the trunk which is lined with more...you guessed it... red tuck and roll Naugahyde.

Drivetrain
Just gleaming reviews for the under the hood "ornament" is 327ci's and circa 1966. A 700 R4 transmission is on back, and it is fed by a single 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor and then through an Edelbrock intake manifold which resides under a ribbed oval chrome air cleaner cover. All surfaces have been polished or show in pristine cast aluminum even the valve covers with "Corvette" badging in your grandmother's handwriting showing on either side. A 10-bolt Camaro rear is now installed. Just a wonderful presentation and making me hot, so I moved back from this idling monster!

Undercarriage
Just showroom pristine underneath all straight structurally sound steel and undercarriage, we note a front modified Fat-Man suspension in independent coil spring configuration with a 4 link with coil overs for the rear. Disc brakes are reserved for the front, and drums for the back, and a shiny Flowmaster exhaust is seen down under.

Drive-Ability
This rad rod fired right up, and it was off to the races, well...actually the test track where all worked well whilst putting it through the paces. Drives much like a modern car because most of it is mechanically.

A meticulous builder and consigner who paid attention to all details, produced a final result combining the aesthetic traits of a show-worthy street rod with the drivability of a modern hot rod. This all-steel, 2X Best of Show winner roadster is ready to turn heads, and snap necks. The appeal of this show and go roadster is also price related, as you would have an impossible time doing this quality of a build for the asking price.
