This is a True Barn Find 68 Shelby GT-350 Fastback Cobra Mustang! I rescued it out of hibernation a while back where it has been tucked away since 1985 in the owners garage and in 2001 he moved it to his dads shop and that's where I recorded a video of me winching it out of his shop and him talking about stuff on the car which I figured the person buying this car would love to have for the stories and to put a face to the car. I also have the previous owners old 1984 student college ID card with a picture of how he looked back in the day on it so someone could put the face to the car that owned it back in the day, its just cool history and he left a David Bowie concert ticket in the glovebox from 1984 when he played in Austin tx, some old gas receipts and etc, thought that was pretty cool. This car only has 82k on the odometer which is so good that it was parked almost 37 years ago. The previous owner bought it in 1983 and parked it in 1985 when he was pulling into the car wash a little to fast and slid into the wall and bumped the passenger front fender. He said he was so frustrated he just left and parked it and never drove it again, but kept the tags and insurance up to date for a few several years later in case he wanted to drive it again and I have him telling this story in the video. The motor is a 302 V8 250 Hp, untouched other than a distributor cap, plugs, wires, fuel filter everything else looks original. The motor oil is cleaner than a new car and is right on the full spot. All the Cobra stuff is still on the motor including the valve covers, air cleaner, Holley 600cfm, Factory Intake # C8ZE-9425-A, looks to be factory distributor just maybe a aftermarket cap, The rear unpainted factory vacuum port is there that connects to the booster, Factory Aluminum Intake Spacer between carb, 7 blade fan, and the cobra dress up kit. They ran exhaust manifolds from the factory on 68 Shelby's instead of headers so they would have room for power steering. This car has a 3 speed automatic transmission in it. The underside of this car is in great shape, just needs a good cleaning. I don't see any rust on this car, it was pulled off the road in 85 and stored properly for 35 years so it never really had a chance to get rust. The only thing missing on this car is the battery and the gas tank was removed but all the gas tank factory parts are there to put it back when you order another tank. I think he ran the gas out when he pulled the tank so the carb might still be fairly clean inside. The inside of the trunk is beautiful with no rust and all the weather stripping on this car is still in great shape all the way around. After carefully looking over this car there not a doubt, I could have it running by the end of the day but I don't want to spoil the fun for a true collector who would want to be the one who here's it crank up for the first time or wash it and see the beautiful paint, that's why I have not touched it. Its still got the 1985 dust all over it and its killing me to not detail this car but I figured if it don't sell I might go ahead and get it back on the road and drive it just like it is with new tires and original and finally get to wash it! The paint on this car looks like it will shine like new with a bath. It has 2 spots on the cowl piece by the windshield where the paint flaked off but I was just going to touch it up and put some touch up paint on the fender or air brush to blend in and just replace the outer bezel and drive it like it is. The body is super nice and rust free. The doors shut like a brand new car, you can hold them a inch from closing and just barely push it and they shut tight. All the body lines look great except where he bumped the front. The hood and trunk open and close nice as well. If someone polished all the chrome and buffed and waxed this car it would look amazing. Still has the front wire grill shell in front of the radiator without a ding in it. All the emblems, lenses, tail lights, chrome, fog lights, and stickers are good and the glass is good, even the windshield. The back bumper is perfect other then a little surface rust in a few spots that a SOS pad would remove and the front got a little tweeked when he bumped it in 85 but it could be straightened easy. Original 15" rims and cobra hub caps are all in great shape but the old good year tires have had it, they will need replaced. Chrome tips and H pipe exhaust still under car even the Carroll Shelby license plate cover. In the glovebox is still has the Cobra tire pressure sticker, a registration from 88, he parked it in 85 but kept it registered til Feb of 1989 just in case he wanted to drive it again. The jack sticker is also laying in the glovebox. All the interior is original and in beautiful shape and hasn't even had any cleaning. All the cobra emblems are still there including on the chrome carpet hold downs, gear shifter, steering wheel, seat belts, arm rest on the console, and has the Gt 350 badge on the dash. Factory roll bar built into the interior with factory Y- Belts hanging from the roll bar. Factory floor mats with the pony on them. The carpet looks great, the seats are nice they just need scrubbing with Armoral and the door panels are beautiful. The fold down rear floor is nice and works great. It has the Alternator and Oil Pressure guage in the middle of console in front of the gear shifter. The headliner has a few spots that are hanging but that's a easy fix and the console pad in the middle has a tear on the side but could be fixed by a interior guy just sewing it back. This car has Factory Air Conditioning still on it and everything is there and looks to never had been broken into so there's probably still R-12 freon in it. The passenger chrome air vent is good, its just laying in the glovebox and needs to be put on. Factory radio still there and the dash is great with no cracks. The body tag states 63B#- Fastback, I#-Lime Green Metallic Paint, 5A Trim# - Luxury Interior 23A#-Date, 8D26428- DSO#, w#- Transmission. The vin# is 8=1968/ T=Plant Built New Jersey/ 02#=Body which is Fastback/, J=Engine 302 V8 250 HP/, and the 155505 is the Ford Sequential number but the last 5 digits are the Shelby Build Numbers which say this was the 1,739th car out of 4,450 were made in 68! The title is actually says Shelby instead of ford, I thought that was neat and everything matches on the vin plates. Overall I feel like this is one of the cleanest barn find 68 Shelby GT-350's out there. The body is amazing, the interior would look almost new just cleaned up, and to be a unmolested, complete car that has been stored properly for almost 36 years, it really shows when you look this car over, its like a time capsule that just got parked and finally found. This Shelby is in amazing condition for being rescued after 36 years. These cars are going up so fast in value, this would be a great investment for someone and by far make one of the ultimate best muscle cars to cruise around all original! Most cars like this take a special buyer or collector that knows what these cars are and there going to want it just because the shape that its in and unmolested. These cars are hard to get and when there barn finds in this shape its just really cool that no one jacked with it and swapped a bunch of stuff, even the factory hubcaps are all there and never fell off. I hope someone wants to do the same as me and leave it the way it is, just detail it to the best, get it running really quick, new tires and etc. and just enjoy it right away. Its a beautiful car inside and out and there a neat video on you tube that shows this car that a magazine writer did a article on just go to you tube and type in Praesels Addiction barn find Shelby and you can see a video of it and me rescuing it out of hibernation for 36 years.
