Description of 1939 Ford Deluxe |
1939 Ford Deluxe 2dr Sedan Street Rod with beautiful two-tone paint and custom interior to match. Build started from a very solid original 1939 Ford in 1993. It is running a built 302 Small block Ford engine out of a 1973 Ford Mustang built by precision engines of Grangeville Idaho. The engine runs strong, and the T5 transmission shifts nicely, and clutch is new and smooth. It has disk brakes up front with Vega steering box and correct steering arm. A rebuilt banjo rear end with open drive line and 3.78 gear ratio. This 1939 Ford does drive very well. Paint is PPG Dark Green Metallic with tan highlights applied by professional paint shop. Some custom features are frenched front running lights, seal beam head lights behind the original 39 head light lenses, turn signal lights in the customized grill, custom chrome grill guard up front and frenched taillights and license plate with chrome rear guard at the back of the car. New, original style, poly tank. Twin electric windshield wipers. The custom upholstery was done by well-known Mattoon's Upholstery shop and its design matches the outside paint job. Front seats out of a 1985 T-bird with power drivers' side was used and the original banjo steering wheel is still with the car. A very nice Classic white face gage package was used in the build with 3 3/8" gage cluster for water temp, Oil pressure, voltmeter, fuel level and big 3 3/8" speedometer and tach were also installed with a cool glove box clock. Very nice interior and well done. The car also has Vintage air, heater, defroster but the air needs installation finished under the hood. All components for under the hood are included: condenser, compressor and hoses. All components in the interior are complete and finished; temperature control, vents, electrical completed and functional. This builder had the car for 20 years but finished the car as it is now in 2014. This is a very well-built street rod, using name brand parts; window cranks, glass, glass channels, door handles, etc.; all new. I have 3 large file folders of build component receipts. |
