Description of 1951 Ford Victoria |
Vehicle Details Very unique 1951 Ford Victoria two-door hardtop custom. Running gear updated to early 70s Chevrolet 350 engine and 350 automatic transmission, with an 8.5 10 bolt rear. Mileage is unknown but the car runs very strong and has no leaks. Car has been updated to a 12 V painless wiring harness, electric wipers, Electric fuel pump, power drum brakes, chrome headers with dummy lakes pipes. Interior has been updated to 1963 Thunderbird bucket seats, and rear wraparound seat. A 40 Ford banjo type steering wheel has been added along with Lokar shifter, and Ididit tilt steering column. Body has been highly customized and looks like it was inspired by George Barris customs. Body has been sectioned 3 to 4 inches, dual headlights have been added, it has a Corvette grill and bumper, dummy spotlights, and nearly every body panel has been customized in some way. Major bodywork was very good, but paint shows age and has bubbling, cracking and could use attention. Floors are very solid and Car is nearly rust free. Still looks great from a distance. Car needs heavier door poppers, and rubber seals for doors and windows. Vent and door windows need some work as far as being adjusted, and there are some glass cracks. I never go anywhere without being asked about the car and getting compliments. It is a very unique piece of work and very fun to drive. You will definitely not see another one like it anywhere. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car anywhere, that is if it’s not raining. Until window and door seals are replaced, the car does leak. The car has new tires, but I believe the suspension in the front is still 1951 Ford. Car has no air and no power steering. It is always kept indoors. This car is a blast to drive, and transports me back to my younger days. You won’t regret the purchase. |
