Cool easy project for you Running drivingLocated in Southern California 15 minutes north east of Disneyland 1929 ford style hot rod woody wagonThis was a kit style car built back east in the 80s by a company called splinter auto WorksIt has 1980s Chevrolet Chevette drivetrainFeaturing a four-cylinder overhead valve 1.6 L engineFor speed manual transmissionRack and pinion steeringIndependent front suspensionFour wheel coil spring suspensionFeaturing cruise control, air conditioning, heating wipers and stereoIt is a fiberglass car with fiberglass cowl, fiberglass, one piece, tilt up hood, fiberglass fenders, fiberglass, running boards. Most of the wood looks like it is Oak or Ash It is California registered as a special construction vehicle as a 1929 The title does say 0000Carr has 26,000 miles we believe that to be original to the drivetrain from the donor car when the car was builtThe car will not come with the personalized plates There is a matching trailer that was stored inside since it was builtIt is in really nice shapeAnd can come with the carThere is also the spare tire for the car in the trailer and a spare tire for the trailer inside the trailer along with surf racks to haul your surfboards Unfortunately, the owner got sick and the caretakers forgot about the car outside under the car cover and that’s where it sat for the last 10 years, with the car cover blowing off and disintegrating, and the car getting wet during our mild so cal winters We have recently put a new starter in, new battery, new tires flush, the tank fixed the ignition switch in the wiring So now it starts up runs and drives and you can go down the roadIt still needs a break and headlight to check as we haven’t had time to do that All the varnish is peeling off most of its gone, and more comes off if you hit it with I have pressure garden hoseThis would be an easy project for a cabinet maker or wood boat guy, or someone who wants to take on that style project By removing the rest of the varnish, cleaning the wood with a cleaner, and then treating the wood with a brightener, and then lightly sanding everything down it would be ready for stain and varnish to look pretty again There are some water damaged areas and some wood that is warped It will need new roof material If you’re brave enough, you could fly in and drive this thing home, but keep in mind it has been sitting for 10 years outside, partially covered at timesMost of the hoses and everything look nice and soft, still not hard and cracked The carburetor did have a flat spot in it when we first started it up, but it seems to be going away and running smoother and better every day Today 7/28/25 the headlights have been fixed along with brake lights, turn signals will work, but there’s a part missing inside the column I am listing this for the Neighbors
