I present to you a stunning 1959 FORD GALAXIE 500 SKYLINER completely restored to original factory specifications. My Skyliner buyer will sit on a vinyl-cloth combination seat with matching interior carpeting and door panels. The Galaxie 500 is equipped with the high-end Town N Country radio. dual spotlights. Selectaire air conditioner. power seats. power windows. power brakes. and power steering. Around midyear. the Fairlane 500 Galaxie became the top trim level for all Skyliners. The new Galaxie had exactly the same trim as the standard Fairlane 500. but added a new wide Thunderbird inspired top with a much wider C-pillar thus creating one of the best looking cars of the 1950s. The Galaxie script replaced the Fairlane 500 designation on the quarter panels. but the Fairlane 500 emblem was retained on the trunk lid. The larger top made the cars heavier. and forced buyers into a higher horse powered V-8 engine. The 1959 Skyliner is considered by many to be the best looking of the three year production run for this vehicle. The addition of my continental kit has made parking this dream retractable a careful assignment. Skyliner drivers travel lightly. because the "trunk" holds just a standard suitcase. with the remainder of the opening used to house the retractable top. My Galaxie looks great with the top up or down. Adding stainless steel skirts. and chrome rocker panels provides "something special" to my baby. Options I chose for my 1959 Skyliner include; a 225 HP 332 CID V-8 engine. Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission. power steering. windows. brakes. four way power seats. FreshAire heater and defroster. 8. 00x14 four ply white sidewall tires. full wheel covers. StyleTone two tone exterior paint. tinted glass. back-up lights. electric clock. twin spot lights. windshield washers. two speed electric wipers. A lifeguard safety package. which included padded instrument panel and sun visors. with front and rear seat belts. SolarAire air conditioner and Fairlane side moldings.
