Description of 1962 Ford Falcon |
1962 Ford FalconsteinWolf in sheep's clothing. This isn't your ordinary Grandma's Falcon. although from the outside it looks like it. This Falcon has not been on the road in over twenty three years. until we breathed life back into it by way of a new heart and drivetrain. It was resurrected from a barn in the Georgia mountains where it hadn't seen the light of day in over two decades. The body is virtually rust free. There is a little under the rear wheel well valence. but it covered by the standard issue aluminum stone guards. I did absolutely nothing to the body and interior. it is exactly the way I purchased it. No modifications to the body were required the squeeze in the 17" Mustang Bullitt wheels and tires. So this is the list of parts that Dr. Frankenstein ordered. THE ENGINE;1972 Ford Torino 302 V-8 complete top and bottom end rebuild. Competition Cam. nbsp;lift . 512 with a 280 duration. Comp Cam Aluminum Roller Rocker Arms. Comp Cam High Energy Hydraulic Lifters. Aluminum Heads. Double Timing Chain. Magnum Push Rods. Comp Cam Valve Springs. Melling High Volume Oil pump. Oil Pressure holds at 60 psi. Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold. HEI Distributor and coil. Holley Four Barrel Carburetor. Edelbrock Elite II Series Aluminum Tall Valve covers and airfilter. Dual Electric Cooling Fans. THE DRIVETRAIN;Rear end from a 2002 Ford Explorer. 8. 8 " and 3:73 gears. Tube shortened four inches. Disk Brakes. Front end spindles and disc brakes from a 1977 Ford Granada. Disk Brakes. Dual Master Cylinder. Upper and Lower Control Arms. Shocks. Springs and Bushings. Monroe shocks in the rear. THE TRANSMISSION: 1972 Ford Torino. C-4 Complete rebuild. B+M Shift kit 2500 stall. Hughs 41-20 Torque Converter. Flex Plate. Hurst Pro Shift II floor shifter. Champion Aluminum Radiator. New Gas Tank and sending unit. The Battery is in the trunk in one of Grandpa's GOOD tool boxes. bolted to the floor on bushings. Hooker Headers. Magna-Flow straight tube mufflers. Boy. does it make Grandma's grocery runner sound annoyed and mean !!!!The car after the rebuild has probably less than 100 miles on it. Going to car shows. There are $100k split window Corvettes at these shows and the people all flock around my Falcon. This is definitely one of a kind. the only other one I have seen is the Falcon they built on FAST-N-LOUD. Will be sold with a bill of sale. |
