Description of 1931 Ford Model A

Offered at no Reserve !!!The Speedster Special is a true work of art. This one of a kind Doane Spencer inspired creation is the result of years and years of thinking. studying. planning. Hunting and finally constructing what the owner felt was the perfect Model A V8 of the fifties and also by respecting the « birth of hot rodding » touch. The creation started by massaging a Brookville roadster body laid down on a mint original Model A frame. The frame was streched 3’’ to allow the positioning of the 348ci without an annoying recess firewall. A T5 transmission brings the horsepower and the torque to an original un-molested Halibrand Culver City quick change. This one is hung in place by a Posie’s Model A spring and 1940 Ford split wishbones. The driving experience starts by having an original 1940 Ford Deluxe Steering Wheel in your hands. which is mounted on a Schrœder sprint car gear box. The front suspension consist of a CE 47’’ drilled I-beam hooked up to the frame by a pair of 1940 split wishbones. The braking system is your typical 1940’s Juice brake Ford set up and dressed with 1959 Buick aluminium Finned drums all around. One of the nicest piece on this car is probably the windshield. It’s a solid brass custom construction that follows the curves and shapes of the Model A cowl. It seems to be doing 100 mph even when it’s standing still. A one of custom dash insert and molding were created to display a series of Stewart Warner Wings gauges. A mix of real leather and German square wave carpeting puts the final touch in this classy cockpit. The mile deep black urethane paint was block sanded and polished to a perfect mirror finish. The built of this car was followed and documented in a step by step article in the Canadian V8 Passion magazine. The final result was also Featured in numerous other publishings such as.
