Description of 1971 Ford Maverick

This Maverick was owned by my father who passed away late last year. He was a retired auto shop teacher who planned to convert the car for racing on the drag strip but as you can see he didn't get very far. I think the last time it was legally driven on the street was in 2012. As can be seen in the photos. the body has issues on the drivers side and there is a roughly 2" hole in the floor pan behind the drivers seat (not from rust. Sorry I didn't get a photo). Other than the body issues. the car seems to be very straight. Fortunately the car is in the southern AZ desert in Tucson. so there is very little rust for it's age. What surface rust I did see I took photos of. With help from a few friends. I was able to start and run the engine after disconnecting the fuel line from the tank and feeding it new gas. The air cleaner shown in the photos is not original and is only there to cover the carb from the desert dust.
