Description of 1930 Ford Model A

1930 Ford Model A Fordor sedan project car this was my dad's retirement project but he passed away before he could complete it. This car has one of the best bodies I have seen on an A. There is no rust and only 3 or 4 small dents here and there on the main body. The hood has a couple of bigger dents but still useable as are the splash aprons and running boards. Running boards need new rubber. All 4 fenders are beat up and have been repaired but not very well. I would replace all 4. Apron below grille is rough. All glass is intact and in pretty good shape. Grille and headlights are good with only a couple small dings. The engine has been rebuilt with a .030 overbore new pistons rings and a new set of connecting rods were installed and the crankshaft was polished. A new clutch pressure plate and release bearing were also installed. We got the engine running a couple of days after dad passed in 2011 but I have only started it 3 or 4 times since then. It leaks fuel from the carb when the fuel is turned on. A model A mechanic told me the float was probably bad but I haven't had time to check into that. I am sure it will run with a little tinkering. The gas tank has been removed cleaned and replaced. Dad had the front and rearends out of the car for cleaning as well as some brake repair. I do know first hand that the brakes work and will stop the car. There is no wiring in the car now only a toggle switch to run power to the coil and of course the battery cables. All the wood is intact and seems to be good. Dad installed a new top kit with new padding chicken wire and cover but the cover leaked so he put the silicon to it. This could possibly be cleaned off or simply have another cover installed. Interior is bare bones with only the seat springs left. Rear metal floor is good-front is homemade plywood. A new dash cluster as well as 4 new door handles are included. The paint on the main body was applied by a previous owner to keep from rusting and needs to be stripped. Tires are mismatched and old but I did install new inner tubes today. I really hate to see this car go but too many projects going on and besides mom could use the money. Come take a look you won't find a better 4 door body. Car is located less than 1 mile from Exit 40 off Interstate 26 in Erwin TN...35 minutes south of Bristol Motor Speedway...less than 1 hr east of Asheville NC.
