Description of 1955 Ford Fairlane |
1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria Nut-and-bolt frame-off restored Crown Vic finished in its factory colors. Driven only 5700 miles since! PS PB PW P seat factory air conditioning and more! Nearly every option or accessory box was checked off when ordered! Building upon the success of the 1954 Ford and its newly introduced Y-Block V8 the 1955 model series was introduced with styling that was meant to compete with the equally new 1955 Chevrolets. Offered in nine body styles with three different engines two different roof choices three trim levels and a myriad of options the car proved to be very successful and accounted for 45% of 1955 Ford production. Today the Crown Victoria and plexiglass-roofed Skyliner models remain very popular and collectible as a result of their scarcity when new! We are very excited to present this 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria. Finished in its original color scheme of AZ – Raven Black & new-for-1955 Coral Mist this Crown Victoria also wears its attractive stainless steel pillar over the roof. The interior is finished in an equally attractive shade of White & Coral Mist vinyl (originally AT – White vinyl with black body cloth). It is powered by its original 272ci V8 engine and Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. This Dallas TX built car was believed to have originally been a show car at one of the premier dealerships in Los Angeles and as a result is loaded with options including the following: factory air conditioning Master-guide power steering Swift-sure power brakes power windows power seat continental kit fender skirts AM radio (converted to FM) rear seat speaker with fader control rear deck antenna rear window defrost under-dash map light door sill courtesy lights stainless steel dual exhaust with chrome tips clock rocker moldings door nail guards tinted glass reverse lights windshield washers Ford special oil bath air cleaner Ford floor mats and more! The car rides on a set of wire basket wheel covers with 7.60-15 Allstate Guardsman wide whitewall tires. The nut and bolt frame-off restoration was completed some time ago but included a full conversion to 12V electronics. The paint and chrome have aged gracefully with only the mildest signs of being driven to shows. The engine appears as it would in 1955 and the undercarriage has been polished and the paint even appears to have been clear coated! Underneath you will find many new front and rear suspension components including shocks leaf springs bushings and control arms. Also apparent is a new gas tank most steering components and brake lines. Since completion the car has toured the show circuit and has been crowned an AACA Grand National First Prize winner. Designed with touring in mind the car was equipped with an electric cooling fan for added drivability during the warmer summer months. The car now shows only 5760 miles and continues to run and drive great ready for local or regional shows alike! We would be more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have on this awesome Crown Victoria! Thanks for looking!
